STUDENT SUPPORT ADMINISTRATOR


Learner Experience


NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone who can find ways forward in providing excellent customer service to applicants, learners, and prospective learners as they navigate the functions of the Office of the Registrar.


Reporting to the Team Lead of the Student Support Centre, the Administrator acts as a primary point of contact. Maintaining a thorough knowledge of NorQuest College policies and procedures, the Administrator responds to front-line inquiries resolving or directing as required. The goal is to provide superior service through multiple communication channels electronically and in-person.


How You’ll Make a Difference


  • Strictly adhere to FOIP legislation by ensuring that all student information is treated with the appropriate level of security and confidentiality and that student or government issued ID and authorizing release of information forms are presented when applicable.
  • Assist LINC applicants to complete an application for admission.
  • Manage ID card photo process and distribute student ID cards.
  • Manage group email accounts. For each email, the Administrator will either respond to the inquiry directly or direct the inquiry to the appropriate team can respond.
  • Assist prospects or students in using self-service kiosks to apply to college programs or access other online services.
  • Answer incoming calls, to the college switchboard, for general information and referrals. With the goal of a one-call resolution perspective when possible.
  • Answer inquiries from students and prospective students, through multiple channels, providing appropriate resolution or direct to other services.


What You Bring


  • 1+ years’ experience of related customer service experience. A combination of education and experience can be considered.
  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma preferred - ideally in the area of office or business administration.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfortable with other computer applications.
  • Superior verbal communication skills, (in person and telephone), demonstrating the ability to articulate key messages effectively and employ active listening techniques
  • Experience working with Student Information System (preferably PeopleSoft) an asset.
  • Ability to respect and relate to people from varied backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, and abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed during extremely busy times and to effectively diffuse difficult situations.
  • Critical thinking skills to find innovative solutions and identify when and with whom to implement appropriate risk management and intervention.
  • Knowledge of FOIP.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to a positive team culture, including working collaboratively with others and paying attention to how the team supports its members.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.


SALARY $43,988 - $57,175 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time term position to June 30, 2024 with the possibility of extension with immediate access to our great benefits program.


This competition will be used to fill future openings for Student Support Administrator within the next 3 months.
