JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure efficient operations in the packaging department through the use of the Management control and reporting system
  • Involved in the planning, directing and managing of packaging activities in pursuit of Key performance indicators
  • Ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness through compliance with all relevant environment, health & safety, quality standards and policies
  • Ensure daily production efficiencies and schedule attainment are met
  • Monitoring of critical brewery key performance indicators to manage performance and analyses deviations from target to ensure root causes are properly identified using the Management Control and Reporting System (MCRS)
  • Ensure Brewery compliance with local, provincial and federal rules and regulations
  • Coach workforce through troubleshooting and monitoring of packaging and operating processes and equipment.
  • Ensures usage optimization of brewery assets (line loading, inventory management, planning optimization, minimum production runs, etc.)
  • Ensure effective interaction between packaging department and internal/external customers
  • Prepares and manages the budget
  • Manage priorities and equipment availability for the department
  • Leads crisis management activities for the site
  • Leads the union relationship with People Department support
  • Manages the development of brewery personnel through training, informal feedback and individual performance appraisals
  • Ensuring that the right volumes and/or finished goods are produced and get to the customer at the right time in the right quantities and at the right quality levels
  • Responsible for the planning, directing and controlling of the overall operation including packaging, plant engineering, maintenance, powerhouse and logistics functions


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Working knowledge of environment, health and safety regulations
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, science, business
  • Willingness to work as needed outside of regular business hours
  • Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Experience in brewing, packaging and quality (or combination)
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills required
  • 5 years experience in a related role
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong technical and problem solving skills
