Your new role

• Supervisory Responsibilities include supporting and developing staff by providing or arranging training on assigned tasks and tracking their training. Review schedules to ensure trades people are allocated correctly and each department has the support they require. Ensure department activities are completed in compliance with safety, health and environmental standards, company rules and other applicable legislation.
• Customer Service is provided by assisting customers with service information and resolving service problems by providing solutions and following up to ensure resolution. Serve as a back up to the Service Manager with the customer.
• Administration of all work orders and ensure that sufficient inventory is ordered to match work orders. Perform random audits to check processes.
• Oversees shop facilities and service operations by ensuring operational requirements are met by supervising, coordinating and scheduling the activities of trades people. Prepares service quotes for both internal and external customers.

What you'll need to succeed

The incumbent will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified Heavy Equipment Technician. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Additional qualifications include:

• Also requires knowledge of OH&S acts and regulations and equipment inspection requirements.
• Supervisory experience in an industrial environment is a requirement.
• Requires Red Seal Journeyman level certification.
• Ability to oversee and coordinate a large shop operation.
• Position requires a thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of Komatsu and other OEM equipment.
• Must be an organized individual, self-motivated and a self-starter.
