As the Food Services Manager, you are responsible for the well-being of our residents through the preparation and delivery of home-cooked meals, as well as supervision of the food services staff.

Responsibilities:

• Order and receive food service items
• Demonstrate complete understanding of the menu
• Provide coaching and mentoring
• Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements
• Prepare a schedule
• Plan and prepare quality, home-style meal plans
• Maintain provincial compliance standards to ensure successful inspections
• Cook quality, home-style meals while considering dietary restrictions
• Interact with residents to resolve inquiries in a friendly, service-oriented manner
• Monitor inventory and deliveries of products and supplies
• Promote team building and engagement
• Store food in designated areas following all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Ensure the environment is safe and sanitary for staff and residents; reduce safety hazards, accidents and injuries where possible
• Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils. Clean workstation thoroughly prior to leaving area. Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation and safety requirements
• Recruitment of new team members as needed, including interviews
• Conduct performance evaluations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong background in food services in a residential care setting or hotel
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners
• Comprehensive food service knowledge, including focus on quality, production and delivery
• Superior organization skills with the ability to handle fast-paced environment
• Minimum of two years experience with restaurant or home-cooking
• Leadership experience in food services

Conditions of Employment:

• Completion of First Aid
• COVID-19 vaccination proof. This requirement may be waived if you have received an exemption through the provincial government.
