Opportunity

As the Senior QA Manager for the Vancouver team, you will be everything about Quality Assurance. You will plan, build and manage the entire QA discipline. You will be driving the QA methodology and practices, building the testing strategy long and short term, as well as shaping the team, while supporting a rapid release cycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide successful delivery of high-quality major version releases, upgrade and service packs
• Evaluate and choose the best testing tools
• Track, Review and Analyze quality status and reflect findings to the senior Engineering Management
• Develop and implement quantitative analysis of process performance and product quality
• Lead the Development and Execution of Quality Assurance plans for the team
• Enhance employee hiring, mentorship and development to create a best-in-class quality organization
• Drive to establish Performance, Scalability and Reliability testing framework and conduct the tests
• Drive the development and deployment of a next generation test automation system
• Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Project Management and Support to ensure alignment of objectives, test coverage and timeline
• Drive the execution of security and vulnerability testing
• Facilitate a KPI-driven organization, identifying the required metrics and setting appropriate targets.
• Define and assimilate quality assurance processes and test strategies for the QA organization and lead their execution
• Present results of improvement efforts and recommend action plans to senior management

Qualifications

• Strong technical background with scripting experience in JavaScript, RestAPI, etc
• Experience testing / working with complex, distributed, Enterprise systems (security / DB / storage an advantage)
• Understanding and experience with multiple development processes, practices, and tools – Agile / Waterfall
• Deep understanding for QA foundations: Ability to write flawless test-plans, and know when, where and how to take risks
• Experience with leading performance testing projects
• At least 3 years of experience in automation development
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience as a testing manager
• Knowledge and experience working with Databases and SQL (Oracle, MS-SQL, DB2, Sybase, Informix, MySQL, PostgreSQL…)
• Experience in QA of both Applications and Infrastructure of software systems.
• Strong mentorship and leadership abilities
• Experience with leading transition from manual to automatic testing
• Experience with big data or cloud-based solutions
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• At least 8 years of experience in software testing
• Experience working with Linux base systems, virtualization platforms (VMWare, Amazon, …)

Bonus:

• Experience in Cloud and hybrid environments – Advantage
• Experience in networking and/or network security – Advantage
• Experience with working in UNIX/Linux environments – Advantage
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash or Ruby – Advantage
