Senior Manager - Assurance (Remote)

Were looking for an Assurance Manager to join one of our clients in Canada. This is a client-facing leadership role, you will work closely with a team of managers and associates to implement accounting, tax, and business planning strategies for clients.

Responsibilities

• Guide the decision-making process on all but the most unusual audit and accounting matters.
• Perform and supervise a range of auditing, tax, and accounting issues from start to finish and oversee larger, more complex engagements.
• Involvement in evaluations and compensation recommendations for all staff.
• Plan and coordinate the various phases of the fieldwork such as staff requirements, logistics, audit programs, and time budgets.
• Schedule, plan and establish work priorities for the team.
• Ensure complete and timely engagement wrap-up to include preparation and/or review of financial statement and tax return.
• Schedule, delegate, and review the work of staff members, support on-the-job training, and evaluate staff performance.
• Ensure that appropriate skill levels of staff are assigned to various files undertaken.
• Undertake a significant administrative role in firm. For example: Interviewing and hiring for all levels up to manager position.
• Participate in business development initiatives and take on a leadership role in mentoring and training staff.
• Minimum available hours to be chargeable as specified on an annual basis.

Requirements

• Ability to provide accounting insights to clients in a clear and concise manner, including insights into complex accounting issues.
• Familiarity with the issues and challenges faced by small- to medium-sized businesses.
• 5+ years of Accounting and/or Public Practice experience, with includes a range of auditing, tax, accounting, and completing financial audits.
• 2+ years of experience managing a team.
• CPA designation.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple clients simultaneously.
• Ability to research and analyze financial statements and audit-related issues.
• Undergraduate university degree.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Independent, highly motivated, and a self-starter.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
