Plan and coordinate the various phases of the fieldwork such as staff requirements, logistics, audit programs, and time budgets.

Ensure that appropriate skill level of staff is assigned to various files undertaken.

Undertake a significant administrative role in firm. For example: Interviewing and hiring for all levels up to manager position.

Accounting, Audit And Tax Responsibilities

Perform and supervise a range of auditing, tax, and accounting issues from start to finish and oversee larger, more complex engagements.

Provide insightful feedback on client deliverables such as audit report and management letters, etc.

Collaborate with the engagement manager/senior associate on engagement approach and execute on the plan using a risk-based approach

Manage profitability of projects, evaluate strategy for growth of the firm

Ensure professional development through ongoing education

6+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment

6+ years of audit experience and at least 2+ years of recipient/contribution agreement audit experience

Experience in a public accounting practice

Good understanding of and experience with Canadian income taxation

Independently, or under supervision, preparing financial statements and working papers for audit engagements;

Act as an in-charge in leading review and audit engagements with junior staff members;

Independently preparing financial statements and working papers for review and compilation engagements;

Preparing corporate and personal income tax returns.

5+ years of Accounting and/or Public Practice experience, with includes a range of auditing, tax, accounting, and completing financial audits.

2+ years of experience managing a team.

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple clients simultaneously.

Excellent analytical, communication, and client relationship management skills.

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations, including experience with T1, T2, T4’s and other relevant forms.

Leadership abilities and experience in supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Manage the preparation and filing of taxes for individuals and businesses, including T1, T2, T4’s and other relevant forms.

Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA designation preferred).

Successful completion of a post secondary degree, an information systems or technology, graduate business, finance or management degree an asset.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.

Develop and implement audit programs and techniques to assess the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Audit follow-up on management commitment and plans to address audit concerns

Strong demonstration of stakeholder management, proactive communication and active listening.

Professional designation such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or equivalent experience.

Excellent project management and documentation skills with the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements.

Ability to learn and adapt to complex situations regarding the management and analysis of large data sets in different environments.

Using a range of industry standard software to perform custom solutions to client requirements.

Understanding of multiple technologies to dispense your knowledge of leading practices to enhance service delivery.

Desire to develop a team through constant coaching and feedback, knowledge, and opportunities to grow.

Experience in complex investigations, using techniques such as digital forensics, log analysis, eDiscovery, data analysis and timeline creation.

Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management.

Excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills

Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.

Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field

Experienced Senior- Minimum of 3 years of relevant CDN Corporate tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry.

Provide consolidated profit and regional profit on project proposals

Validate profit and its factors on project proposals and find risk and opportunity

Acting as the day-to-day client relationship manager.

6+ years of public practice experience, with a focus on audit engagements, which includes planning, executing, and completing financial audits

3+ years of experience managing a team

Multi-tasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneously

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

CPA Designation | 5-6 years of experience in public practice | 3+ years of managing a team

Knowledge in programming (Python, JavaScript, R, SQL) and database management (an asset).

Strong teamwork and leadership skills.

Possessing excellent oral and written communication skills.

Possessing strong desire to learn and continue expanding own skill set.

Substantial knowledge of a wide variety of PC-based tools.

Basic knowledge of data analysis tools such as Power BI and Tableau (an asset)

Excellent project management skills, advanced written and verbal communication skills

Direct fieldwork daily, inform supervisors of the engagement status, and manage staff performance.

Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
