Axiom Builders’ Technology Project Management practice is a core team within our Construction Technology and Innovation department. As one of our experienced leaders in the group, the Senior Project Manager, IT works with our internal business stakeholders to drive successful delivery of technology projects. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Analysis, the role works directly with our executive team to deliver IT solutions that allow us to build, maintain and scale our organization.


As the Senior Project Manager, IT you will shape the IT Project Management function in the team by focusing on project delivery, project management practice definition and the creation of tools, standards, and templates to enable and support project execution, reporting and documentation.


Project Scope and Delivery


  • Plan and monitor project critical paths and tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner;
  • Define project scope and deliverables as they relate to business objectives and needs and document scope, budget, and timeline through a project objective statement;
  • Evaluate project performance, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards;
  • Work collaboratively with project stakeholders to identify and analyze opportunities, project risks, develop value-capturing and risk mitigation strategies, and produce and control project timelines.
  • Provide periodical executive reports on project portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management and relevant stakeholders;
  • Establish effective and efficient project governance processes, methodologies, standards, tools, reporting and act as single point of contact regarding best practices for Technology Project Management;
  • Communicate project status to corresponding stakeholders throughout the project via weekly and monthly updates and/or as appropriate;
  • Manage project delivery from initiation to closeout, ensuring the approved project scope and design is delivered on time and within budget;


Documentation and Control


  • Create and own all project documentation, including project charters, project schedules, project plans, RACI, risk matrix, task breakdowns, and decision/issue/change logs;
  • Conduct project reviews and leverage 'lessons learned' to continuously improve the Project Management practice within the Construction Technology team;
  • Create, manage, and maintain the necessary project artifacts and documentation to ensure successful project delivery, including the selection and configuration of project management tools.


The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced and technical IT Project Manager focused on delivering value and achieving business outcomes. In an organization likes ours that is focused on growth and scalability, a strong candidate is someone who is results-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative – there are a lot of moving parts to any project and you are skilled in combining these skills to achieve the end goal.


During the course of the project, there will be moments of client education, healthy debates, and unexpected hurdles, and our expectation of a Senior Project Manager, IT would be to actively listen, remain calm, and stay resilient. The success of any IT project launch depends on seamless change management and effective relationship building – two skills that are unique to our growing organization with lots of positive change.


Skills And Qualifications


  • At least five years in an IT Project Manager or in a similar role;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to translate complex technical problems into clear
  • Expert understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Proficient with project management tools such as - MS Project, JIRA, Monday.com;
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field, Master's degree preferred;
  • Advanced proficiency in project management software and tools as well as Agile methodologies;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously, on time and within budget;
