Senior Quality Assurance Analyst Lead

On behalf of our client in the public sector, Procom Consultants Group is currently searching for a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst Lead.

In this role, the Proponent will not only plan and execute testing activities, but also take on a leadership role for all QA-related initiatives. This includes setting QA standards, directing testing activities, resolving issues, and providing guidance to the BA analyst and developers.

The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst / Lead may also perform QA activities on operations and other ongoing or new engagements.

Senior Quality Assurance Analyst Lead :

• Evaluate functional and design specifications to ensure a full understanding of individual solution or service deliverables, defining and communicating the QA approach.
• Provide expert quality assurance/testing advice to the BA analyst and developers, setting a high standard for professional QA practices.
• Review and analyze business requirements and user stories to establish a comprehensive understanding of business expectations, guiding QA standards and processes for all involved parties.
• Verify all changes and ensure effective resolution of reported issues, maintaining an environment of continuous improvement.
• Design, develop, and direct the execution of appropriate test cases that cover all aspects of the solution or service, including functionality, data integrity, security, performance, user interface, and more.
• Identify service quality issues, opportunities, and constraints, guiding the team towards optimal solutions.
• Identify potential quality issues according to defined processes and escalate them as necessary, while guiding the resolution and prevention strategies.
• Manage other QA tasks as required, instilling a proactive, problem-solving approach to QA within the project team.
• Oversee a full spectrum of testing activities, including but not limited to functional, usability, and regression tests, as well as end-user experience level testing for UI, messaging, etc.
• Validate and analyze all reported issues before seeking resolution, ensuring accurate issue tracking and efficient problem-solving.

Senior Quality Assurance Analyst Lead Mandatory Skills:

• Data Integrity Testing, Compatibility Testing, Error Handling Testing.
• PowerBI expertise on how to retrieve data, how to build and interpret reports, and how to troubleshoot issues related to data loading and transformations.
• Expert in comparing and contrasting data between sources, i.e., between .csv files and SQL tables, or between original and transformed SQL tables. Writing SQL queries to extract and compare relevant data to validate data types, structures, and values to ensure that the transformation process is working as expected.
• Software Testing: A solid grounding in software testing concepts and methodologies, such as system testing, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of related experience, education and training (Industry recognized software testing certification is an asset)
• The resource must possess a minimum 7 years demonstrated experience in performing software quality assurance with at least 5 recent years of proven testing experience as a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst / Lead or an equivalent role working in a medium to large scale software development environment; including authoring test strategies and test plans.
• Proficient in creating clear, concise, detail-oriented test cases and performing a wide variety of Functional and Non-Functional tests

Desired Skills:

• Understanding of Azure DevOps: This includes the ability to create and manage work items, user stories, bug tracking, etc. Knowledge of build and release pipelines is a plus.
• Understanding Data Security and Privacy Practices: An understanding of data security and privacy is necessary to ensure that testing practices respect these guidelines.
• Understanding of Azure Data Studio: As the team uses Azure Data Studio for accessing Azure SQL tables, familiarity with this tool is important. This includes understanding how to connect to databases, write and execute queries, view and interpret results, etc.
• Knowledge of Business Rules: In a project that involves creating business rules, it's important to understand the rules and how they should be implemented and tested.
• Automated Testing Skills: Azure DevOps supports automated testing. Having some familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Postman, or JUnit, may be useful.
