Job Description
The Senior Manager, People & Culture (P&C) will lead the P&C initiatives and efforts for our Jasper-based businesses and be a key member of an extremely collaborative people & culture team. From onboarding – to recognition – to training and development, this role supports processes and programs related to every aspect of the employe experience. This role will also oversee staff housing operations, ensuring a safe, clean and positive living experience for over 200 team members in our accommodations. This position reports directly to the Director, People & Culture for the Banff Jasper Collection (BJC).

LEADERSHIP


  • Report on month end results, forecast future expense and contribute to the development of annual Jasper P&C budge
  • Be a day-to-day coach and partner to business operations leaders on all aspects of P&C
  • Partner in the development and implementation of P&C processes, procedures and programs to create a successful and engaged team, deeply connected to Pursuit’s core values.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team ofdirect reports, driving performance and professional growth and development


HOUSING


  • Serve as the escalated point of contact for housing challenges within the Jasper geography
  • Be a key Administrator for department IT systems, including Rent Manager and ADP
  • In partnership with the Director of P&C and housing team, develop KPIS to ensure staff accommodation processes are consistently performed to a high standard (arrival, departure, room changes, room checks, etc.)


Employee Experience


  • Lead thorough and consistent investigations bringing them to fill resolution with all parties involved in the matter.
  • Partner closely with business operations leaders on all employee relations inquiries and matters,building operator confidence and capability and knowledge and awareness of P&C tools and processes
  • Lead new hire orientation sessions, and enterprise and BJC specific training programs for managers and team members
  • Champion Pursuit and BJC specific recognition programs, partnering with operators to ensure awareness and strong execution


TALENT AND ACQUISITION


  • Partners with operational leadership team for succession, talent and retention plan
  • Directly source and fill Support Services and Operational leadership roles within the Jasper geography
  • Partner with Jasper operations leaders to develop staffing needs for each line of business, communicate needs and partner with the Talent Acquisition team for sourcing, recruiting, placement and onboarding of staff


Other


  • Continuously look for and recommend process improvements and areas of opportunities both within the Jasper geography, and broader Pursuit P&C team.
  • Partner and communicate frequently with P&C Support Services teams to ensure systems and processes are working for the operations teams. Help troubleshoot issues where necessary to provide quick resolution to issues.
  • Participates as an active member of the Banff Jasper Collection P&C team on broad staff-related initiatives such as staffing models, retention plans, engagement strategies, talent development and business growth
  • Provides expert advice to BJC managers on organization structure, position titles and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, policies and growth planning.
  • Be a subject matter expert on Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • As a key People & Culture leader in Jasper, this role will support the business community through participation in HR committees and employer network meetings.


Experience you’ll ned to be considered for the job


  • Experience developing and leading learning, development and training programs
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a broad-based Human Resource/People & Culture role
  • Experience working with a seasonal workforce
  • Moderate financial understanding to manage annual budget processes and weekly/monthly forecasting to plan
  • Experience building relationships and working on teams across all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated work experience in the hospitality, travel or tourism business
  • Experience with all aspects of people management, coaching for performance, and corrective discipline
  • General understanding of payroll, time & attendance practices and willingness to work closely with Accounting & Payroll partners
  • Functional ability to use Microsoft Office tools and relevant office equipment
  • Experience leading a diverse team in multiple locations

You will grow the business by finding, engaging and hiring great talent. In partnership with the broader talent acquisition team, you will develop and execute recruitment strategies that bring over 1,000 new team members onto the team each year, supporting our 10 restaurants, 11 hotels, 8 attractions and transportation in our Banff Jasper Collection. You will be the expert in recruiting Food & Beverage and operational team members.


  • Key administrator in the company’s applicant tracking system, including supporting and training Hiring Managers in their use of the system
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events
  • In partnership with the Head of Talent Acquisition and broader TA team, develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to draw a large number of qualified candidates for assigned jobs
  • Provide weekly reporting to hiring managers
  • Meet KPIs, SLAs and hiring targets
  • Act as a consultative partner to hiring managers and leadership
  • Full cycle recruitment for the high volume hiring of seasonal and full-time staff
  • Collaborate and consult with hiring managers to determine position requirements and recruitment strategy
  • Use best practices in sourcing, engaging candidates and managing the recruitment process
  • Keep the applicant tracking system up to date
  • Partner with the Head of Talent Acquisition and the broader Talent Acquisition team on continuous improvement of recruitment processes


Required Experience


  • High-volume recruiting experience
  • Experience sourcing and engaging passive candidates
  • 3-5 years of experience as a full-cycle recruiter


Preferred Experience


  • Experience recruiting Food & Beverage and/or culinary talent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience recruiting in an agency setting
