Senior Manager, Climate Strategy

In this new role as the Senior Manager, Climate Strategy, you will lead the development and cross-functional implementation of our climate strategy.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Arc’teryx sustainability team is small, mighty and integrated into business functions for the highest impact. We have a core team of passionate experts responsible for developing strategy, programming, and measuring progress against our company sustainability goals. We work from within our own team of Supply Chain as well as with key partners and teams throughout the organization to develop and implement strategy, programming, metrics and tools into how we do business.

If you were the Senior Manager, Climate Strategy now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

• Guiding cross-functional business partners in the development and integration of priority carbon reduction initiatives and climate strategy into key functional areas.
• Leading our internal Climate Working Group to build leadership and cross-functional awareness, collaboration, strategic decision making and accountability
• Defining the key programmatic elements of our climate strategy and establishing the plan to bring them to life
• Building and leading a highly engaged and high performing team to deliver the climate strategy
• Developing and delivering Arc’teryx net zero strategy and driving implementation across the organization
• Leading the development and delivery of carbon reduction roadmaps to meet our obligations as UN Fashion Charter signatories
• Collaborating to support the completion of our renewed Science-Based near term and net zero targets
• Providing insights, education and strategic advice to leadership and key stakeholders on climate matters
• Collaborating with our parent company and sister brands to ensure alignment and sharing of resources and insights when appropriate

• You have experience in strategy development
• You are an excellent communicator with both technical experts and lay people
• You have a willingness to prototype and learn by doing
• You enjoy building relationships and are skilled at leading change
• You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
• Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
• You are driven by curiosity and learning about the needs of a range of business partners
• You can effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
• You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, with an unwavering commitment to seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions
• You have a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in a relevant field (Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related fields.) or equivalent experience
• You are highly collaborative, with demonstrated effectiveness at building strong partnerships inside and outside your core team
• You are plugged into thought leaders and remain engaged in global climate matters
• You thrive in a fast-moving environment
• You have a very strong technical understanding of climate science, emerging technologies and strategies, and the global and regional climate context in the regions where we operate
• You are highly organized and driven to find and build solutions to complex problems
• You have 7-10 years’ experience in a climate strategy-related role in a relevant industry
• You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
