Senior Product Manager

Summary: As a Senior Product Manager, you will be part of the Systems Engineering team you will be responsible for defining the requirements and architecture and solutions for leading north American operator networks. You will also be involved in defining features, dimensioning, TCO analysis, and support product management teams in defining roadmaps for our 4G and 5G RAN product portfolio for your North American and Canadian customers. You will bring your deep technical expertise in 3GPP 4G, and 5G NR, O-RAN, and cloud native technologies to design solutions for next generation networks. We are looking for a self-driven technology thought leader with a dynamic personality to help drive and implement our innovative LTE and 5G Open vRAN product solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

• Provide innovative technical solutions to address market needs working closely with Customers, Sales team, and other System Engineers to define system requirements and drive solution architecture.
• Build system specifications covering the following for RAN features in EUTRA and NR radio access technologies:
• Interface with customers to understand the feature requests and create Systems engineering requirements, features and software specification for LTE and 5G NR RAN products.

1. Customer use cases
2. End to end call flows and functional requirements
3. Configuration, Performance and Fault management requirements
4. Security requirements.

• Disseminate knowledge and provide technical support to others within a dynamic and empowered team environment.
• Work with marketing team to prepare collaterals such as white papers, technical and business analysis of various value props.
• Work with System test and QA teams to transform the system specification into acceptance criteria and detailed test specifications for end-to-end test execution.
• Excellent understanding and insight in 4G or 5G specification (RAN)
• Work with Sales teams to define customer requirements, perform TCO analysis, drive performance studies and define solution architectures and blueprints.
• Experience with algorithms – Admission Control, Load Balancing, Handover Algorithms.
• Experience with 4G or 5G control protocol stacks RRC, S1-AP, X2-AP, NG development.
• Work with radio, cloud platform and server hardware partners and hardware product management team for defining solution blueprints.
• Participate in and contribute to key standards and industry bodies to support and advance the adoption of Open RAN technologies in private, government and public telecommunication networks.
• File patents of innovative ideas.
• Experience with 4G or 5G data plane GTP-U, PDCP.
• Experience with analyzing and characterizing RAN field performance and debugging system level issues.
• Closely follow 3GPP and O-RAN standards to understand the end-to-end system impacts (from UE to core network and from physical layer to RRC / PDCP layer level impacts).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Work with Engineering development teams and follow the development life cycle to ensure customer requirements are properly captured in features, products, and solutions.
• Assist Product Management teams in defining product roadmaps, responding to customer RFIs and RFPs and participating in RFI/RFP defense.
• Lead customer engagements as a technical leader for trial planning and execution.

Education and Experience:

• Attention to details and a thorough reader of 3GPP / O-RAN specifications.
• At least 10 – 12 years of experience in system engineering or technical product management roles with majority of time working on NR and LTE products and solutions is required.
• Expertise in 5G, LTE and LTE-Advanced technology especially in 3GPP RAN and O-RAN protocol layers and management aspects is required.
• Experience in writing detailed System Functional Specification
• Good experience in writing detailed specification documents.
• Ability to develop architectures and solutions in collaboration with customers technical and CTO team and cross functional teams of experts across the company in RAN, OSS and Cloud native and automation domains.
• Working knowledge of Cloud Native and virtualization technologies is desirable.
• Master of Science degree or above - Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering or Computer Science Engineering is desirable.
