Job Description

The Senior HR Business Partner acts as a strategic partner to enable our People to drive long-term business success in areas including talent, engagement, change management, and compliance. This role partners with business leaders on overall strategic direction and will support the advancement of organizational goals and values. The successful candidate has a proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions within their client group, and acting as a business advisor to employees, leaders, and executives on HR activities.


Core Responsibilities

  • Identify requirements for Human Resources frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee on- and off-boarding, and talent retention.
  • Advise people managers on engagement programs, understanding their needs/issues/concerns and proactively lead and coordinate the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions. Maintain visibility and a scalable pulse on the Voice of the Employee.
  • Proactively ensure that people practices comply with external regulatory/compliance guidelines, based on local risk factors.
  • Understand the talent mix within business units, recommend and support the deployment of effective performance management and development plans.
  • In collaboration with Centres of Excellence, support the development of Talent Programs (Compensation & Benefits, Talent Attraction, Talent Management, etc.) in order to support the needs of the department.
  • Drive departmental outcomes that align with overall SSENSE business objectives.
  • Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, ensuring organizational standards are consistently maintained.
  • As a people advisor, understand stakeholders and interdependencies, impacts of change initiatives, identify champions and resistors and formulate recommendations, appropriate workshops and communications to support change adoption.
  • Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of HR related practices, such as Talent Management, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Employee Engagement, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, CHRP or CHRL certification an asset
  • Fluency in French and English is required
  • A good sense of humour is an asset :)
  • Proven project management and change management skills an asset
  • A minimum of five years of human resources partnership or advisory experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation and labour standards
