The Smart Buildings (ELSB) business segment digitally transforms commercial, industrial, and residential buildings to optimize comfort, efficiency, safety, and security, thereby improving the quality of life in buildings of the future through reliable, smart, sustainable electrification solutions, services, and products.
In this role, you will be a key member of the management team of the local activity sector for the emergency lighting manufacturing plant in Dorval. The client group comprises functions related to the management of the products, research and development, marketing, support to sales portfolios, as well as operations.
You will work in collaboration with the company’s centre of Excellence (CoE), and with the various Human Resources colleagues at the global level.
Your responsibilities
  • Ensure that the positions are filled with adequate personnel to achieve or surpass the objectives. Examine human resources analytical data to understand the key organizational dynamics, tendencies, and problems and define and execute the appropriate actions.
  • Live ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
  • Build strong relationships with the leaders of the various client groups by ensuring collaboration and the human aspect in decision making.
  • Articulate the needs of the organization to the centres of expertise and the overall service to ensure relevant support.
  • Understand the organization's operations, the current and longer-term strategy in order to identify value-added opportunities for the business.
  • Implement the key performance indicators, identify the opportunities, and ensure their realization. Assume general human resource responsibilities namely in elaboration and interpretation of policies, administration of employee benefits, employee relations, and recruitment.
  • Orchestrate the Human Resources team to define and implement the HR priorities in accordance with the strategy of the sector of activity.
  • Participate in the elaboration and sharing of the vision of the organization, mobilize and influence the values transmitted by the leaders in order to ensure a culture of performance and recognition.
Your background
  • Excellent knowledge of labour laws.
  • Bachelor of human resources or relevant field, a minimum of 8 years of experience, member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés is an asset.
  • Excellent abilities in team mobilization, strategic alignment, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Experience in personnel management and activity coordination.
  • Analytical skills, ability to influence and make decisions resulting in the overall success of the organization.
