Overview

Holcim Group is becoming a place where digital transformation is perpetual, and a digital architect has a vital role in this scenario. The product in scope of this posting is Concrete Direct (CD) which is a disruptive platform offering convenient and transparent processes to all ready-mix concrete stake-holders using three interfaces, thereby connecting customers, truck drivers and dispatchers in real time to increase convenience in daily business.

In this context, the Digital Architect understands overall applications portfolio, IT and business priorities and success measures to design modern cloud architectures and solutions using various combinations of microservices, container-based, cloud native and serverless deployments, DevOps, & advanced cloud design patterns, EDGE computing to accelerate customer business objectives.

The architect works closely with the CD Product Technical Owner, supporting the decision making process with his expertise. The overall target for this position is to contribute her/his experience to CD Business Process Digitization building blocks.

Responsibilities

• Rich experience on supply chain management, order fulfilment and logistics
• Together with the PTO, collaborate closely with the RMX CD engineering teams to ensure the solutions built, reflect their vision and make the best use of current development practices.
• Contribute her/his expertise of shaping solutions technology by defining the right architectural approach, project cost estimation and budgeting, planning and delivery as a Digital Architect
• Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects, while infusing key modernization practices and technologies (e.g. distributed systems design, resiliency and self-healing, observability, etc.), and application development and DevOps technologies (e.g. containers and orchestration platforms, serverless, CI/CD/CT, cloud native deployments, etc.) as appropriate .
• Contribute to BYOD strategy implementation for different IOT components (tablets, sensors)
• Collaborate with our Group/partners architecture teams (EAW) and their review boards
• Work on leading-edge cloud-native and hybrid architectures for Concrete Direct digital solutions

Qualifications

Level of education/qualifications normally required:

• Certification in architecture development methods, including at least one of the following: TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, Zachman, FEAF
• Master degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis or a related field mandatory.
• Certification in development of digital solutions (Web Applications, mobility applications - UX, Backend, Integration and API) is required.
• Strong knowledge of other enterprise integration technologies and platforms (e.g. SAP PO, JDE web services). Architecture Certification in other iPaaS Technologies other than MuleSoft like Dell Boomi is required.
• Strong knowledge of MuleSoft supported by Certification in MuleSoft platform Architecture is mandatory
• Requires high to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, systems engineering and integrations.

Specific Work Experience

• Analysing new business requirements or opportunities and propose the technical implementation solutions using industry best practices
• Experience of ‘system of systems’ architecture development, partitioning of functionality among applications and components and application interfaces/interoperability concerns.
• Proficiency in API Design using Open API Standards and RAML
• Experience of software development methodologies (agile) approaches to system development.
• Contributing to the development of reusable APIs, API scalability and monetization using MuleSoft or Non MuleSoft technologies.
• Experience in connecting SAP ECC, S4 Hana, Salesforce, ServiceNow, JD Edwards, Oracle, My SQL, Postgres Database, AWS S3 and protocols like ODBC, JDBC, SFTP, FTPS etc. is mandatory.
• Designing complete solution architecture artefacts that define the solution details such as solution architecture and data flow diagrams, and sequence diagrams that define the interactions across systems, security architecture diagrams, high availability architecture designs, etc.
• Leading solution design, development activities and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Socialising Digital Architecture roadmap related to integration architecture across technology, product development, and business teams.
• More than 17 years of experience in the enterprise Integration platform
• Scoping, design, development, and implementation activities across projects to deliver integrated solutions b/w various business and operations systems.
• Solid programming skills using Java, SOAP/REST/ODATA Web services, XML, JSON etc.
• Specific business process experience (e.g. supply chain, order fulfilment, logistics, production, quality, maintenance).
• Proficiency in designing asynchronous and synchronous solutions using various queueing mechanisms like AWS SQS, JMS, Active MQ, IBM MQ and Anypoint MQ is a must.
• Lead Architecture and design engagements to demonstrate how Mulesoft meets the needs of Acronym customers and internal stakeholders, including IT transformation, digital products/services, platform as a service and the co-creation of industry specific solutions
• Expert in architecture development methods, including certification in one of the following: TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, Zachman, FEAF
• Deep knowledge of the use of digital architecture and customer experience and how digital architecture can benefit the business.
• Experience of working internationally and remotely with global teams across numerous locations.
• Broad business domain experience (e.g. readymix, cement, aggregates).
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary
• At least 9 years of solid experience in Enterprise Digital Architecture, strategy and roadmap.

Technical / Functional Skills

• At Least 15 years of experience in Supply chain management, order fulfilment and logistics business domain, good understanding of production and quality processes related to Construction Materials Business Processes
• Knowledge of microservice-based architectures using domain driven design, CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns.
• Broad understanding of desktop and server operating systems including: Windows, Windows Server. Unix/Linux Variants. Windows & Linux based system administration (equivalent to) skills in a virtualized and/or cloud environment would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of SOA principles, containerization technologies (eg. Docker, Kubernetes), scripting tools (e.g. Unix Shell Scripting, Windows PowerShell, Python, Groovy etc.) and configuration management and orchestration would be preferable.
• Must have hands on knowledge and architectural certifications on leading iPaaS tool other than MuleSoft like Dell Boomi
• Development of digital solutions (frontend / backend) background/experience is essential
• Experience of working in collaborative teams and with distributed, offshore delivery teams
• Experience of building scalable, resilient, and secure applications using Agile / Scrum methodology..
• Experience in CICD/DevOps using GIT, Jenkins, MuleSoft/Maven
• Good “Industrial” functional knowledge, preferable in readymix, construction materials, mining etc is must.
• Knowledge of setting up MuleSoft platform in Cloud, On-Premise (Cluster) and also an excellent knowledge of CloudHub (1.0 & 2.0) is a must.
• Knowledge of API-centric architectures and integration strategies is a must;
• Ability to develop solution roadmap and application architecture according to business and IT strategy as per architecture best practices
