Title: Senior Tester - MS Azure DevOps

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Mode: Hybrid

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tester to join our Testing Team and support the organization of testing plans in MS Azure DevOps (ADO). The Senior Tester will collaborate with the Senior Test Lead to ensure effective mentoring of junior members and ensure comprehensive testing coverage across various testing types. This role requires a strong background in integration systems testing, test case creation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting, as well as expertise in utilizing testing tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Document defects/bugs accurately within Azure DevOps, providing clear reproduction steps, screens, and follow-up to resolution.
• Ensure thorough testing coverage for various testing types including ERP System's Unit Testing, Data Migration Testing, Configuration Testing, Regression Testing, Business Process/Flow Testing, Integration System Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Execute test plans, test suites, and test cases according to industry standards for the full SIS implementation.
• Collaborate with the Senior Test Lead to organize and coordinate testing plans within MS Azure DevOps.
• Manage test data preparation, test steps, expected results, screens, and additional necessary documents within Azure DevOps.
• Prepare and document comprehensive test cases in Azure DevOps based on Business and/or Functional Requirements (BRDs/FRDs).
• Communicate ERP requirements, test cases, and defects/bugs effectively to Development and Functional teams.
• Link test cases to requirements and defects/bugs for traceability.
• Provide technical training to team members as needed.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the Testing Team.

Experience And Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend complex systems and inter-dependencies for integration testing.
• Familiarity with SaaS, COTS products, Azure Cloud, and API testing.
• Tools expertise in Defect and Test Case Management, including MS Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent.
• Completed a 3-year College diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
• Experience in Performance, Load testing, Accessibility testing, and Mobile device testing.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in integration systems testing, test case creation, execution, defect logging, and reporting.
• Strong expertise in identifying software bugs, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Proficiency in functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing.
• Proven experience working within multi-functional and multi-site teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with a Student Information System is an asset.
