Senior Data Architect Jobs

Reporting to Manager, Data Architecture, the Senior Data Architect will be responsible for development of data transformation processes and utilities, as well as supporting data analysis, clean-up and mapping from multiple systems used across Extendicare.

This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Work with BI and Data teams to optimize queries
• Assist in data validation and cleaning processes
• Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate meetings and complex concepts, including thorough understanding of what may drive business priorities, strategy, and direction, and what may drive customer business needs
• Develop Logical and Physical Data Models to ensure adherence to sound data management principles
• Provide end-to-end vision and knowledge to projects to help better design solutions
• Partner with operations to understand business needs and direction and ensure that solutions are designed to meet business goals
• Design and build ETL processes, primarily using SSIS and custom queries as well as variety of data sources such as FTP based flat files
• Collaborate with management, staff and stakeholders on data strategy, architecture, rationalization, quality, and analytics to support strategic business initiatives

Qualifications

• 7+ years of general professional experience
• 5 years of general data analysis experience including excellent understanding of SQL and complex queries
• 5 plus years of Azure SQL management
• 5 years of ETL experience with a good understanding of process automation with tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• 7 plus years of Database Administration experience on MSSQL

Bonus Skills

• DBA experience on other platforms
• Scripting or general programming experience
• Power BI
