The position provides mentorship to managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a positive safety culture and build a continuous improvement and proactive OHS management cycle.

What you will do!
- Develop and Implement the safety strategic plan
- Conduct incident trends analysis and lead reduction team to improvements.
- Maintain the Chemical Inventory list; Material Safety Data Sheets, Hazardous Materials storage and disposal plan.
- Provide support, advice and coaching to employees and supervisors on safety related aspects.
- Provide support to supervisors and JHSC with the investigation process.
- Act as liaison to MOL, MOE and other external partners
- Lead risk assessments to identify risk and controls on production floor.
- Support the development and administration of safety programs.
- Promote and support improvement in leading and lagging targets and implement creative initiatives to achieve these targets.
- Provide employee communication and education on policies and standards, and incident findings to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
- Provide input on safety plans, policies, procedures and new initiatives that respond to the needs of the business.
- Conduct internal audits, inspections and follow-ups to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead safety improvements through active participation in Lean activities
- Partner with the Operations team and safety coordinator to provide guidance and technical support to implement new initiatives and policies.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety related legislation.
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organization through a collaborative approach.
- 3+ years working in a similar role
- Manufacturing experience is an asset but not required
- Strong organization and planning skills with ability to lead initiatives from inception through to implementation
- Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Ability to solve problems through root cause analysis methodologies
- Strong interpersonal skills
