Job Overview:
As the Safety Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our company's adherence to all safety regulations and standards. You will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our safety programs, policies, and procedures. Your expertise will be critical in promoting a culture of safety, mitigating risks, and fostering a workplace where our employees thrive without compromising on their well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze safety metrics and trends, preparing and presenting reports to senior management.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Conduct thorough safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety policies, emergency procedures, and best practices.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with inspections and reporting requirements.
- Manage safety documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that safety protocols are effectively communicated and followed throughout the organization.
- Stay current with evolving safety regulations and industry trends, making proactive recommendations to enhance our safety programs.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience (2+ years) in safety compliance management, preferably in trucking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification(s) in safety
