Department Overview

The Credit Policy Group (CPG) strengthens Fitch Ratings’ credit analysis, ratings, and research by identifying credit risks that require additional focus and feeding that analysis back into the analytical teams, assessing Fitch Ratings’ rating performance, and assisting groups in implementing policy for the application of ratings criteria and models. CPG works in partnership with the analytical, operations, legal, and compliance groups to ensure Fitch Ratings’ ratings are timely, robust, and consistent.

The Criteria Review and Approval Group (CRAG) ensures that all criteria, assumptions and models applied in the ratings process are rigorous, systematic, and evaluated based on historical experience.

CPG and CRAG are critical functions in monitoring and maintaining Fitch Ratings’ controls. The groups are situated within Fitch Group’s Risk division.

The Operations, Reporting, and Systems team (ORS) is responsible for supporting CPG and CRAG by performing data analysis, carrying out ad hoc project initiatives, designing and implementing systems, and overseeing operations and reporting.

The Operations, Reporting, and Systems team seeks a qualified candidate primarily responsible for:

• Managing in-house project initiatives
• Fulfilling internal and external reporting requirements, including regulatory inquiries
• Retrieving, processing, and analyzing of data
• Supporting and enhancing the team’s operations

As part of the candidate’s responsibilities, the candidate will be called upon to:

• Work with a wide range of people
• Parse procedural and regulatory documents
• Distill complex ideas into succinct messages
• Organize projects and take a project from start to finish with reasonable guidance
• Critically evaluate issues, identify key problems, and conceptualize solutions
• Create and maintain documentation for operational and reporting processes
• Draft clear, comprehensive, and tightly-written responses and inquiries

The position involves a substantial focus on writing and reporting. Strong writing skills and attention to detail are essential to success. Candidates must submit a cover letter in order to be considered.

Job Requirements

You’ll be a good match for the position if you have:

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Pre-law, English, History, Communications, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Finance. Students graduating in May 2023 will also be considered.

• 0-4 years of relevant work experience
