Job Description
Currently hiring for an Admin Support CSR for a local Barrie office. The role is working in the Public Gov't Sector
Reporting directly to the Supervisor the overall purpose of the position is to provide front-line customer service, in person, by telephone, and by email for finance and general inquiries.
Must drive not on a bus route
Working Days Tuesday - Friday 8:30-5:30 pay rate $27.56
Special Project 6-8 weeks start right away. Opportunity for the role to be extended and hired for time.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the mailing/faxing of tax certificates, once authorized by the Deputy Treasurer or their designate
  • Communicate with the public (property owners, lawyers, real estate agents, mortgage companies, financial institutions, etc.) through the counter, telephone, email, and fax inquiries in relation to property taxation and water/wastewater billings
  • Receive payments and issue receipts for all departments (Finance, Building, Planning, Clerks, Parks & Recreation, etc.)
  • Assist with the mailing of all water/wastewater bills and property tax bills
  • Issuance of fire burn permits
  • Responsible for daily balancing of cash receipting batches and preparing weekly deposits (at a minimum)
  • Responsible for processing property tax and water/wastewater requests from homeowners, including copies of bills and statements of accounts
  • Primary telephone and front counter coverage
Qualifications
  • The position requires 1-3 years related experience, direct experience is considered an asset.
  • The minimum level of formal education required for the position is a Diploma in Business Administration, a combination of municipal experience and training may be acceptable.
  • The position requires a thorough knowledge of the various computer applications appropriate to the position including Microsoft Office, Microsoft
