Qa Technician (Food Manufacturing, Part Time)

This position reports directly to Inovata Foods’ Quality Assurance Manager.

Inovata Foods Corp.is currently looking for two team members to work at our Edmonton, Alberta location.

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, with a partnered facility in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Inovata Foods Corp. is a major producer of high quality frozen meals for prominent clients throughout North America.

Details.

This position will join the QA Team as a Saturday QA Technician and shifts will be 8.5 or 10.5 hour days. We will offer training fulltime throughout the month of August.

• Shift 1: 8AM to 4:30PM
• Shift 2: 4AM to 12:30PM

Position Purpose.

• To support Quality Assurance functions and related requirements.
• Complete line checks, QA checks and associated paperwork.
• Support plant and production functions.

Duties And Responsibilities.

• Support finished goods release program, i.e., daily taste panels.
• Support incoming materials program, i.e., raw materials inspections.
• Review batch documentation for release of finished goods.
• Perform environmental swabbing and subsequent sample submissions to external laboratories.
• Other projects as assigned.

Requirements.

• Must have completed college level coursework.
• Preference given to candidates currently enrolled in a College or University program as this is a part-time weekend shift.
• Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office, i.e., Excel.
• Must be able to work independently.

• Must have an eye for detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to interpret food safety and quality requirements.
• A candidate will not be removed from consideration if answered 'no' they are unable to participate.
• Sampling and ensuring quality is maintained and consistent throughout products will require the successful candidate to participate in taste panels and batch sampling for a wide range of allergens and meats.**
• Must be familiar with and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate with production personnel.
