Food Truck Operator / Chef

Responsibilities

The Food Truck Operator / Chef is responsible for day to day operations of a food truck, including food preparation, cooking, customer service and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires great culinary skills, strong organizational abilities, and a customer service-oriented approach to provide a memorable experience for customers.

Some Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks on the food truck, including, equipment cleaning and maintenance. Coordinate with manager for any necessary repairs or maintenance.
• Operate the cash register and POS system accurately, process transactions and provide customers with appropriate change. Keep track of sales and report to management.
• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and quality standards. Ensure that all food is fresh, flavorful, and cooked to order. Handles and store food safely, following proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Provide great customer service. Engage with customers, answer questions about the menu, and make recommendations. Handle customer inquiries, comments and complaints in a professional timely manner.

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation.
• Strong time management skills.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekends and evenings.
• Previous experience in a food truck or similar fast-paced food service environment is preferred.
• Cash handling and basic math skills
