Manufacturing Operations Manager
INOVA Calgary Office
Purpose of the Job:
The Manufacturing Operations Manager oversees the general manufacturing operations of INOVA in Calgary.Focus is on defect free on time deliveries of seismic systems and accessories. Managing the manufacturing resources to optimize the manufacturing plans for schedule, quality, and cost – reporting on same to senior management. Developing and optimizing processes and production configurations to drive maximum productivity and minimum overall cost.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for coordinating operations and engineering to accomplish goals set by our Executive Team.
-Oversee Scrum meetings with production, planning, purchasing, sales, engineering, and logistics focusing on build plan expectations and requirements.
-Review and present the build plan to the senior management.
-Oversee New Product Introductions (NPI) and assist with project plan developments.
-Complete cost analysis’ on new plans or changes to existing ones.
-Manage the handover of new products from engineering to production.
-Manage and do “what if” planning for capacity and order projections.
- Responsible for managing our customer’s out-of-box experience and reporting back to senior management.
-Identify shortfalls and provide recommendations based on customer feedback.
-Present failure data, focusing on expected out-of-box yield compared against the actual yield experienced by the customer.
-Implement changes to production, purchasing, and engineering to ensure the customer experience is positive.
-Work with field service and other repair centers to ensure the customer has a positive experience using our equipment.
- Responsible for the promotion of safe working practices and being environmentally conscious
-Oversee and train on all HAA and JHA.
-Oversee all incident investigations.
- Optimize manufacturing processes and procedures, monitor and report on capabilities.
- Responsible for managing the usage of raw materials on job orders and ensuring that materials are used properly.
- Working with Supply Chain team to ensure required materials are available to meet build plan.
- Demonstrate financial literacy and review financial reporting, cost reporting and cost of build.
- Responsible for creating floor plans, process flows, and QC check points on all manufacturing and repair centers.
-All plans created with a focus on efficiency and product flow.
-Implement all designs around the budget and space available.
Education and Experience:
- Post-Secondary education in business or manufacturing engineering preferred
- Previous experience in production manufacturing flows
- Experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Experience using an ERP system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to complete strategic planning in collaboration with peers in a planning team
- Intermediate knowledge of Accounting principles
- Knowledge of project management, planning, and evaluation
- Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel
- Ability to adapt to ever-changing requirements and deadlines
- Experience using Syteline would be considered an asset
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
Work Environment:
- Office environment as well as well-lit manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Occasional travel required for team meetings
