The Opportunity
Our Pipeline Capacity Projects team continues to evolve to meet the needs of our growing business as we expand our natural gas system throughout Canada. We are seeking an energetic, self-managed Project Manager to manage projects of varying size, scope and complexity within the pipeline capacity projects portfolio for Canada Gas, based in Calgary, AB.
Reporting to the Manager, Pipeline Capacity Projects, this position will work on the development and implementation of medium to large scale Pipeline Capacity Projects. Project performance will be measured on the ability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget and in compliance with the TC Energy Project Delivery Standard (PDS).
What You’ll Do

• Work with Supply Chain Management through full life cycle of external contractor engagement including the development of procurement strategies, scope of work, and contracts with external service providers
• Oversee project design and facilitate technical reviews to ensure all applicable specifications, codes and legal and regulatory requirements are met
• Develop project plans including project execution plan; communication plan; risk management plan; change management plan; resource plan; procurement plan; safety management plan; construction management plan; etc.
• Liaise with internal customer groups to understand a project’s Commercial, Regulatory, Land, Indigenous, and Environmental objectives and determine the necessary scope, deliverables, cost, schedule and quality requirements
• Prepare formal reports, and provide senior leadership with project updates
• Manage site construction emphasizing safety, quality and project turn-over
• Maintain regular communication with client groups and manage stakeholder and client expectations
• Support the development of cost estimates, including appropriate allowances (risk, contingency and escalation)
• Participate in the continuing development of project planning, project management tools, templates and processes by identifying and applying opportunities for improvement
• Identify and mitigate risks, through team engagement, risk registers, plan and control
• Manage medium to large pipeline capacity projects development and implementation, including budget, schedule and reporting functions, delivering safely, on time and on budget
• Develop key project documents including: Scopes of Work, Requests for Proposal (RFP), regulatory applications, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a project manager
• 10 years of project experience relevant experience in gas pipeline projects
• Post-Secondary degree in a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with Pipe Integrity, In Line Inspection, Measurement, Emissions, Fleet, Cathodic Protection, Abandonment, and/or Post Construction Reclamation projects
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

This position requires candidates to:

• Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up to 25% of work schedule)
