CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for a Project Manager, Marketing & Communications! Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the Project Manager, Marketing & Communications is responsible for leading the planning, management, and execution of CNIB marketing campaign projects, including digital, brand, communications, and experiential marketing activities for its new strategic plan.
Working cross-functionally with interdepartmental stakeholders as well as external creative, research, and media vendors, the role requires a keen attention to detail as well as the ability to see the bigger picture of a given project to deliver large-scale campaigns and other key marketing projects on time and within budget. The successful candidate will have strong writing, analytical, marketing, and communications skills, as well as the ability to plan and deliver marketing events, such as such as media, public engagement, and staff events.
Your impact at CNIB
  • Provide additional writing support as needed for CNIB projects not limited to its strategic plan, including participant communications, program marketing, donor materials, internal communications, and more.
  • Oversee the planning, design, production, promotion, and overall coordination of large-scale marketing events in support of CNIB’s The Way Forward strategic plan.
  • Be proactive and leverage marketing knowledge to contribute to and improve upon strategies for success.
  • Manage the delivery of large-scale marketing and communications projects including key elements of CNIB’s new strategic plan.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress, stay on top of ongoing deliverables, and achieve campaign targets.
  • Serve as the internal Marketing and Communications lead for CNIB’s strategic plan, The Way Forward, by writing and/or coordinating the development of a number of communications materials to support this large-scale, five-year project, including emails, impact reports, website copy, etc.
  • Serve as the media lead in support of CNIB’s strategic plan by negotiating the best price, quality, and placement of advertisements, including within social/digital, print, radio, and television media.

  • Proven skills managing complex projects – particularly related to marketing and communications – with multiple stakeholders and deliverables using an organized, strategic, and thoughtful approach.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking.
  • Flexible and strategic mindset, and comfort with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the organization’s success.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and to work well under tight timelines or changes in priorities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing function and channel-specific expertise, initiative planning and development processes, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office Suite, SEO, SEM, Google analytics; social media; and CMS management platforms.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with experience in providing crisp, insightful information to internal leaders.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong written skills and ability to draft compelling copy for multiple diverse audiences. Experience writing for marketing and non-profit purposes is an asset.
  • Thorough understanding of brand development process.
  • Strong business acumen in addition to analytical, organizational, and interpersonal influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
We Want To Hear From You If You Have
  • Proven experience building relationships with media and stakeholders through creative PR strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing successful, inclusive marketing campaigns.
  • Solid knowledge of social media and web analytics.
  • Experience with media buying, particularly social/digital and newspaper/magazine ads.
  • Previous experience working in a complex, centralized/decentralized organizational environment.
  • Keen awareness of current industry and domain trends.
  • Experience with CRM software and digital marketing tools and techniques.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of integrated marketing and communications and/or project management experience.
  • Formal training or education in project management (i.e., certification, course completion, etc.).
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree (marketing, communications, or journalism preferred).
  • Experience managing vendors and external agency providers.
