Who We Are


The communications team in the Faculty of Environment raises the profile of the faculty by sharing the amazing learning opportunities for students and research, and activities of our faculty, students and staff. Our collaborative, fast-paced and "can-do" culture supports creative solutions to meeting the varied needs of our faculty and staff partners.


About The Role


The Coordinator, Communications and Marketing participates in the development and management of communication and marketing activities with an aim of raising the profile of the Faculty of Environment. These activities include: content and branding of Faculty initiatives and projects such as newsletters, annual reports, strategic plans, digital communications (e.g. website, and social media) and more. The Coordinator produces content (text, and digital assets) aimed at diverse audiences, including current and prospective students, alumni, government agencies, community groups, donors and industry partners. The Coordinator oversees and acts as the copywriting/editing, and social media expert responsible for strategizing, managing, and updating content for various marketing materials, as well as creating and delivering email and social media marketing initiatives as required. The coordinator works closely with the Associate Director, Communications and Community Engagement and other administrative staff or faculty members in the Faculty.


The ideal candidate will act with professionalism and integrity while providing outstanding service to our partners. They will bring their creativity and organizational skills to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines to make deliberate communications with impact.


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field and four years of related experience in the design, strategy, planning, and execution of marketing/communication plans, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


  • An ability to create visually appealing messages with impact.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to tailor the message to the audience and mode of delivery.
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining web and on-line communications including social media.
  • The ability to evaluate, develop and plan communication strategies.
