Professor, Business – Part Time

The McKeil School of Business requires a part time Professor to teach in any number of courses and program areas, at both the senior and junior level, including but not limited to: theoretical business applications in the Accounting, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Project Management Programs.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Professors in this department are responsible for providing academic leadership for developing an effective learning environment.

Responsibilities

The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop, deliver and revise learning resources within the department
• Providing innovative educational delivery and experiences through the use of online educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), for in-class and online delivery. Use a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes
• Create a positive learning environment in the classroom and laboratories

Areas Of Subject Matter Expertise Of Interest Include

• Accounting
• Marketing with specific knowledge of digital marketing concepts.
• Supply Chain
• Human Resource Management
• Advertising and Public Relations
• Project Management
• Analytics
• Business Management

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have:

• Relevant educational qualifications in Business, MBA, DBA, PhD and/or Professional accreditation where appropriate; CPA, PMP, etc.
• Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
• Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset
• At least five (5) years of relevant “practitioner” experience

The successful candidate must have an ability to relate theoretical knowledge and practical applications through innovative delivery methods so as to provide a meaningful learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and ages. The ability to work as a part of a team and demonstration of excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Faculty members hired at Mohawk College must be prepared to teach with a learner-centered approach and to assist in the development and application of alternate delivery methods. The successful candidate may be assigned to teach classes at any College Campus.
