Professor, Business

The McKeil School of Business requires a full time Professor to teach theoretical and practical business applications in a number of courses and program areas, at both the senior and junior level.

Responsibilities

The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Using a variety of teaching and learning strategies including online learning.
• The successful applicant will be expected to develop, evaluate, revise and deliver academic curriculum cooperatively with other professors.
• Enhancing educational delivery and experiences through the use of technology.
• Managing the educational environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience and student success.
• The incumbent will be expected to make use of educational technology in course delivery and services, to promote student success initiatives and to work with program areas of the College.
• Using a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.
• Creating a positive and innovative student-centred learning environment.
• Delivering the theory and practical application.
• Applying college values and philosophy in work activities and interactions with others.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have:

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Knowledge and fluency in the use of computers and related applications.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner.
• Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
• Capability of teaching a broad array of business courses and concepts including Microsoft excel at an advanced level.
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

The successful candidate must have an ability to relate theoretical knowledge and practical applications through innovative delivery methods so as to provide a meaningful learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and ages. The ability to work as a part of a team and demonstration of excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Faculty members hired at Mohawk College must be prepared to teach with a learner-centered approach and to assist in the development and application of alternate delivery methods. He/she may be assigned to teach classes at any College Campus.

Programs run on a year-round basis and teaching during the spring and summer months is required. Faculty may be scheduled to teach between the hours of 8:00am to 10:00pm.
