Job Description
As one of the world's leading asset managers, Invesco is dedicated to helping investors worldwide achieve their financial objectives. By delivering the combined power of our distinctive investment management capabilities, we provide a wide range of investment strategies and vehicles to our clients around the world.
If you're looking for challenging work, smart colleagues, and a global employer with a social conscience, come explore your potential at Invesco. Make a difference every day!

Your Role
As a Product Development Associate, you will report to the Director, Product Development, and join a growing team of highly driven ETF professionals to support the product development and market research needs of a high-focus, highly visible, and exciting area of Invesco's growing asset management business. This is an excellent opportunity to build a shown foundation in product and marketing strategy, market research, business operations and execution excellence. This unique role offers the opportunity to participate in the building of new ideas across the full design-to-delivery spectrum and involves collaborating cross-functionally with a team of global stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
You Will Be Responsible For:
Conduct Market Research
  • Make use of industry reports, market research tools, independent research, and internal/external meetings to understand the ETF and mutual fund's landscape, current and emerging trends, and key competitor activities.
  • Orient research and reports around potential opportunities for, threats to, or gaps in, Invesco's existing product offering or overarching product development and commercialization strategy.
  • Support the production and delivery of detailed reports and presentations that are insights-driven and recommendations-focused.
Support the New Product Development and Product Change Processes
  • Provide overarching project management, project coordination, and/or workstream lead support where required including detailed note taking and record-keeping.
  • Serve as a resource in the gathering of implementation requirements, development of product implementation plans, and collecting of implementation risks and opportunities.
  • Support the product ideation and product change processes by extrapolating market research into actionable ideas, high-level business cases and recommendations on key product configurations.
  • Participate in detailed assessments of pre-launch readiness relative to implementation plans and participate in the go/no-go decision-making process.
  • Participate in the evaluation, screening and refining of product ideas and change proposals into tangible and detailed proof of concepts, and the evaluation of those concepts to identify and document potential changes to the firm's existing ETF Operating Model.
  • Conduct detailed post-implementation reviews to evaluate lessons learned, the meeting of pre-established success criteria, identify continuous improvement opportunities and operationalize key performance indicators on product health and key elements of the post-launch commercialization strategy.
  • Act as a consult and resource for the product development group during project implementation, including providing detailed directions on the product vision, key requirements, and desired outcome.
Support the Evaluation of Ongoing Product Operations
  • Support the production of reports that evaluate the existing Canada ETF product shelf from financial, strategic, operational, organizational, and external market lenses. Including product contribution analyses; project portfolio considerations; product strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats; and enterprise level risks, opportunities and issues arising from the existing product shelf.
Other Duties as Required
  • Capacity to travel for business up to several times per year.
  • Flexibility to work from home and office. Willingness to support a semi-flexible schedule: some early morning and evening work may be required due to international stakeholder collaboration and pressing timelines.
  • Ability to adapt role and responsibilities to changing needs of the firm including strategic pivots, and tactical changes to plan due to economic, commercial, or other factors.
The Experience You Bring:
  • Canadian Securities Course - required within the first 12 months
  • Strong desire for and habit of independent, personal and professional development, to further knowledge and bolster skills required to become a high performer.
  • Undergraduate degree or comparable experience (Finance preferred).
  • Willingness to take on stretch goals and assignments designed to develop your career and increase your contribution to the organization.
  • Highly driven, self-starter, with strong ability to learn independently.
  • Execution-oriented demeanor. Focused on understanding key requirements and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Required industry courses and certifications:
    • Canadian Securities Course - required within the first 12 months
  • Other training and courses may be required as determined by Director, Product Development to enhance skills in key competencies such as, product evaluations, financial modelling, presentation skills, and project management.

  • Strong analytical thinker comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data and asking critical questions vital to perform work.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a financial services organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Competency in Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg (preferred, or training to be provided).
  • Willingness to lead upwards, laterally, and downwards to make critical inquiries and support the execution of key initiatives.
