Our innovative client, in the energy sector (natural gas), is looking to bring on an Operations Administrator/Natural Gas Scheduler to provide day-to-day support in scheduling, purchasing, and trading of natural gas! This opportunity is fully remote yet is a valuable part of a collaborative and tight knit team working out of Vancouver and across Canada.
The ultimate hire will have a small business mentality and be confident and capable of working with Excel and Microsoft 365 at an advanced level. Reporting to multiple clients, the individual best suited for this role will be a natural trouble shooter and tech savvy, with impeccable attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:
- Coordinating natural gas supply purchases and meeting customer demands across a network of pipeline and utility systems in Western Canada
- Attending industry meetings and conferences and building a knowledge base of the markets the company operates within
- Maintaining and developing relationships with upstream suppliers and pipeline and utility companies
- Providing customers with supply reliability using cost effective daily purchasing
- Being on call weekends/evenings as needed to manage potential supply and/or transport curtailments
- Managing the entire supply and transport portfolio and interfacing directly with customers
- Recording and reporting daily pipeline scheduling activities and sending summary reports to customers
- Providing timely reports to customers on supply volumes, pricing, total costs, taxes, and fees
- Monthly reviewing and approving supply and transportation invoices to be distributed to customers or internal accounting
Education:
- Ideally Engineering, Economics, or Finance
- Bachelor’s degree is required
Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is required
- This role works in 10+ complex spreadsheets daily
- Proficiency in MS Applications, SAGE 50, and SharePoint is required
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a trading role is considered an asset
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Ability to complete tasks with efficiency and accuracy
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Eagerness and flexibility
Base Salary: $65,000 per year
- 3-weeks’ vacation
- Health Spending Plan (available after 6 months)
Work Hours:
- Weekend/evening availability as needed (on-call)
- 37.5 – 40 hours per week (potential overtime to be expected)
- Flexibility with work hours required (between 5:00am to 9:00pm with breaks throughout the day)
Remote Work:
- Candidates should reside in Vancouver or surrounding areas
- This position is remote and does not require you to be on site
- This role will require bi-monthly in person meetings with the team in North Vancouver area

- This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
