Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Administrator to join our start-up company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day administrative tasks, ensuring smooth office operations, and maintaining a welcoming and productive workplace environment.


The responsibility of the Office Administrator is managing assigned work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to detail and a commitment to tasks completed on time. The Office Administrator at Merq will need to be disciplined, conscientious, and have a strong sense of responsibility. The position requires someone that can work at a fast pace when needed and can develop guidelines and procedures for the role. The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with dedicated approach to work.


Merq will provide clearly defined responsibilities, and reporting relationships. Merq will require the candidate to embrace learning new systems as well as be responsible for helping to develop new standards, guidelines, and procedures for accounting and other office administrative functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Greet and direct visitors, answer incoming calls and emails, and manage the company's general inbox.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for staff members.
  • Help to plan and organize company events and team building activities.
  • Manage and maintain records, including employee records, financial records, and other documents as required.
  • Assist with human resources duties, such as on-boarding new employees and maintaining employee files.
  • Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring that inventory is stocked, and office equipment is maintained in good working order.
  • Manage all bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including invoicing, tracking expenses, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Provide general administrative support to the leadership team, including drafting correspondence and preparing reports as needed.


Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to our dynamic and growing business.
  • College degree or professional bookkeeping training preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take on new tasks as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
