Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting the efficient, reliable, and safe execution of the regional supply plan, using basic analytical capabilities to coordinate the effective scheduling of physical movements into and out of supply networks and making efficiency trade-offs.

This position is on the Calgary team of Trading & Shipping's Gas and Power Trading Americas (GPTA). This role is based in our Calgary office.

Key accountabilities:

• Understand and communicate with team pipeline/customer behavior and extract key insights that impact nomination and transactional decisions.
• Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing bp’s interests on issues including product specifications and operational flexibility.
• Function as a strategic partner to enabling teams, prioritize opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.
• Manages gas supply and demand balances for the defined region, delivering reliable supply and mitigating supply disruptions.
• Updating and managing the daily gas flows, transportation, and storage costs in our Gas Management system (Endur). Ensuring at month end that volumes tie to the pipeline statements and the pipeline and storage invoices are properly reported for in the system.
• Work across multiple scheduling teams to drive automation, standardization, and integration.
• Aligns with bp’s Code of Conduct and models bp’s Values & Behaviors.
• Executes overall supply chain processes, trading and asset strategies, leading initiatives from definition to execution and identifying efficiencies.
• Ensures product quality and supply reliability incidents are resolved, implementing actions for continuous improvements and opportunities to minimize costs throughout the supply chain.
• Execute and manage the daily natural gas nominations to the various Canadian and US pipelines, via the appropriate EBB systems. Execution to be timely and accurate throughout the daily gas cycles.
• Sharing in rotational weekend and statutory holiday to provide On Call coverage.

Essential education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Essential experience and & job requirements:

• Skilled in interacting and influencing across a wide range of professional teams
• Awareness of natural gas scheduling, or similar operational commodity experience
• Proven written and verbal communication skills
• Initiative-taking and independent problem solver
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Desirable criteria:

• Experience in statistical modeling, SQL, quantitative programming (e.g., Python, R, or Spark), data visualization (e.g., PowerBI, Plotly, D3)
• Experience with natural gas pipeline nomination processes

You will work with:

As a Natural Gas Transportation Representative, you will work heavily with trading, marketing and origination and other regional operational teams within bp and be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and optimizing gas nominations daily.

You will also work closely with commodity Risk and settlements to resolve any PnL issues or invoicing discrepancies for transportation and storage costs.
