Gas Marketing Coordinator Jobs

The Opportunity:

The Gas Marketing Coordinator will be part of a team responsible for the daily gas sales of CNR’s equity production. This will be a fast paced and exciting role which will provide you with exposure across the range of Canadian Natural’s Gas Marketing business throughout Canada and the USA.

Reporting to the Manager, Gas Marketing; the successful candidate will be a senior member of the team adding direct value to the gas sales activity.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide regular reports to management on relevant gas market fundamentals and peer benchmarking
• Seek and evaluate new gas marketing opportunities to increase netbacks
• Recommend and implement new pipeline transport or gas sales positions
• Ensure accurate and timely marketing deal entry in our ETRM system
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and industry peers
• Monitor daily volumes and gas movement to ensure all marketing commitments are being upheld
• Coordinate any production interruptions or transportation issues that may arise
• Provide backup to other Gas Marketing Coordinators
• Monitor and optimize CNR’s pipeline transport across various North American trade hubs
• Prepare pricing summaries and other marketing reports/data analytics
• Collaborate with production/logistics teams to prepare daily/monthly production forecasts
• Monitor new pipeline projects, expansions and open seasons; evaluate their impact on the WCSB, North America and Global gas markets
• Negotiate and prepare gas purchase and sales contracts
• Develop downstream pipeline and gas sales commercial contacts
• Analyze North American gas fundamentals to identify opportunities and potential hurdles
• Provide on-call holiday and weekend coverage on rotation as required during off-hours

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with downstream pipeline optimization
• Experience in natural gas fundamental analysis
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 10+ years of related industry experience is required
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience either directly or indirectly with gas sales in downstream markets
• Proven ability to deliver results in a fast paced environment under pressure, multi task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• A post-secondary Degree in Business, Accounting or Engineering
