Role And Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Solution Leader is responsible to design complete end-to-end solutions for Mission Solutions used by global defense forces, para-military and public safety organizations to enhance their users’ mission readiness through a broad range of critical operations ranging from rehearsal, to test and evaluation to situation awareness and resilience. These solutions leverage CAE’s core modeling & simulation capabilities as well as complex computer-generated synthetic environment technologies, coupled with state-of-the-art digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, connectivity and cyber.

The Solution Leader supports CAE’s Business Development teams in the shaping and development of new product and service offerings and specific opportunities associated with Mission Solutions market segments. Those opportunities include replicating the real world in sophisticated virtual environments with adequate level of fidelity and scalability, including multiple and cross-domain data sources and modelling, such as;

• Computer generated forces (CGF)
• Synthetic visualization engines
• Sensor data (RADAR, EO/IR, satellite imagery, etc.)
• Traffic data (air-land-sea)
• Geospatial data
• Broadcast media
• Social Media feeds
• Weather simulations
• Critical infrastructure operations
• Human & crowd behavior

In close collaboration with CAE’s worldwide network of domain experts and industry partners, the Solution Leader guides the definition of complex mission solutions at the very early stages of customer needs definition, helping to shape and influence requirements for the entire system lifecycle, from initial capability development and deployment into fully operational in-service sustainment. The target customers may include a cross-section of land, sea, air, space, cyber and public safety domain users that are looking to improve the speed and accuracy of information gathering, analysis and dissemination, to achieve enhanced joint operations, mission readiness and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver comprehensive Solution Reviews to the CAE Leadership and all stakeholders to clearly communicate the winning strategies
• Leverage CAE technologies, standard products and partner/subcontractor capabilities in the design of a cohesive, optimal and cost-effective offering
• Interface with partners, customers, and end-users to present and review solutions.
• Facilitate and validate the cost estimating and risk analysis from the different stakeholders’ point of view.
• Work with Product Managers, System/Software Architects of the various subsystems, as well as Chief Architects/Design Authorities to ensure functional requirements are well defined, understood and are clearly derived into product/service roadmap and then engineering/technical requirements,
• Provide leadership to the Capture Teams on opportunities to develop various aspects of the proposed solution, including;
• Identify potential execution and deliverable issues, concerns and risks associated to the overall solution design, deployment, and delivery
• In collaboration with Program Management, define a winning execution strategy for major opportunities including make-buy analysis, strategic partner selection and workshare definition
• Create holistic Mission Solutions “system architecture” specifications and diagrams that define and integrate all the components of the solution
• Coordinate initial User/Customer needs and requirements analysis,
• Lead the definition of fully integrated Mission Solutions from the early stages of customer interactions, all the way to contract award

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the following industry standards is desirable
• OGC 3D Tiles
• Availability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time
• Common Operating Picture (COP)
• Previous exposure and experience in the design of synthetic environments, command and control (C2) systems, decision support systems and/or synthetic visualization systems are considered strong discriminators
• Intelligence surveillance & reconnaissance (ISR) with both manned and unmanned platforms
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Wargaming and Exercise Management
• Open Geospatial Consortium’s Common Database (OGC-CDB)
• Good understanding of operational needs in the following domains
• Good ability to develop capture strategies and proposal storyboards, leveraging winning themes and discriminators
• Bachelor’s degree or greater in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field
• Joint Planning Systems
• Multi-domain C2 / Operations
• Be able to hold a NATO SECRET security clearance
• ESRI’s Indexed 3D Scene (I3S)
• Digital Transformation
• Good business acumen and political savvy
• Minimum of 10 years of related and relevant experience in the defense and/or public safety industry, with 5 years focused on the development of Mission Solutions related systems, products and/or services,
• Exposure to, and good understanding of, the following tools and technologies;
• C2 protocols, such as LINK 16, Variable Message Format (VMF), etc.
• Excellent oral & written communication and presentation skills
• Processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED) of intelligence data
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Multi-Intelligence Data Fusion
