Your new company
My client is a leader in the construction industry here in the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada and its parent company is one of the largest construction firms in North America. They have two groups, a commercial interiors business and a building group. The current need is for the building group, focused on the development and construction of large mission-critical projects, including data centres.
Your new role
The open role is for a Mission Critical Lead to oversee the execution of mission-critical projects. They will manage the overall project delivery, including, constructibility, managing team collaboration, and achieving project goals, while maintaining high quality standards. This individual will manage external relationships with clients, sub-trades, and project stakeholders. The Mission Critical Lead will serve as the primary contact for anything around the construction projects and will ensure the master schedule, budgets, reports and pricing is in line with the client expectations. Finally, this individual will help build a team of innovative leaders, focused on building top tier mission-critical projects in Canada and collaborate with the American business.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Mission Critical Lead candidate will have 8 years of construction experience managing projects from inception to completion and have completed Data Centre / Mission Critical projects. This candidate will have a Bachelors of Engineering, or degree in Construction Management and the necessary trade experience. They will have a strong business acumen, exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to perform under pressure. They will be a leader, effective communicator both orally and written and be decisive with a strong sense of urgency. They will have PMP, LEED, and/or Gold Seal Certifications / accreditations and be eligible to obtain Government of Canada security clearance. Finally, they will have the ability to think strategically, and be flexible to change and working with others.
