Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Department at the ROYAL INLAND HOSPITAL in beautiful KAMLOOPS, B.C. If you are an experienced registered nurse and would like to move into Intensive/Critical Care nursing but do not have formal education, we would love to consider you for paid in-house training. This training would require an 18-month return of service commitment and is expected to start on September 11, 2023.
This in-house Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) program uses the standardized, evidence informed online curriculum authored by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (ACCN), called ECCO and *Essentials of ECG & Dysrhythmia Monitoring.
The ECCO program has three (3) components:
• Required Theory (115 hours)
• Clinical Lab Hours (155 hours)
• Preceptorship led Clinical Practicum (180 hours)
About the Job:
The Registered Nurse:
• Provides nursing care to emergency patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
• Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
• Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
We currently have MULTIPLE PERMANENT FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITIES. The Required Theory and Clinical Lab Hours components will be Monday through Friday with shift times of 08:00 to 16:00; schedule to be altered to full time 12 hours shifts for preceptorship and Return of Service, with shifts of work being scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 07:30 hours.
About this location/unit:
Our Intensive Care and Step-Down Unit is a beautiful, state-of-the-art department consisting of 17 single beds and five, negative-pressure isolation rooms. The fully equipped ICU provides an aesthetically appealing environment for patients and features a new family entrance, a waiting area and quiet room for family privacy, improved functional design, enhanced infection control and support space for the staff. RNs work 12-hour shifts with LPN support.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years
• BCLS within 3 years

Effective April 1, 2023, the hourly rate for this position will be: $40.21-$57.78. These are unionized nursing positions with the BCNU.
