Detailed Overview
The Physiotherapist is accountable to the Manager, Clinical Services and is responsible for creating a place of learning, healing and caring in accordance with the mission, values and goals of Fraser Health. The Physiotherapist uses professional and program standards to provide physiotherapy services which include assessment, treatment and education.
Responsibilities

• Reports changes in resident's condition to the care team.
• Promotes awareness of good body mechanics to facility staff, residents and families by methods such as modeling, making presentations and acting as a resource to staff, residents and families by providing information and answering questions related to physiotherapy.
• Compiles, summarizes and submits appropriate statistical data to Fraser Health.
• Documents observations and evaluates therapeutic treatments on the Health Record.
• Participates in committees pertaining to clinical role.
• Performs physiotherapy assessments, treatment planning, interventions and follow-up in relation to individual resident performance in areas of physical function, self-care and productivity using recognized physiotherapy techniques and practices.
• Participates in developing resident care plans through selection of scientifically appropriate physiotherapy procedures and techniques to meet resident needs.
• Analyses continuous quality improvement indicators, specific to physiotherapy practice, participates in associated activities and checks equipment for safety. Makes minor equipment adjustments and repairs as appropriate and refers to others as required.
• Assists in the transferring of residents.
• Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of professional standards and pratices through Professional Practice Committees, as appropriate.
• Assesses resident education needs and provides relevant information to the resident care team regarding activities and treatment programs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Graduate of a recognized program of Physiotherapy from an accredited univeristy. Current full registration with the College of Physiotherapists of British Columbia (CPTBC) and eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).
