Position Overview:

LawDepot.com is currently expanding and looking to recruit a Marketing Writer in Edmonton, Alberta. Working in the Content Marketing Department, you will be responsible for producing SEO-friendly, high quality, evergreen content to drive results for LawDepot products and websites. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities for a hybrid work schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on various legal topics and develop ideas for content
• Complete projects to drive organic search results
• Assist in content brainstorming
• Create long form legal resource articles, SEO content, user experience (UX) content (ex. CTAs, dialogs), and promotional email content
• Write UX copy, email copy, and support copy for other departments
• Utilize reports to identify natural search opportunities
• Write SEO-friendly landing page copy, articles, and pillar pages
• Edit and proofread content developed by other team members
• Develop landing page copy outlines
• Collaborate with other internal departments (Legal, Product, Design, Development) to execute projects

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

● Post-secondary education in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or other relevant fields

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Strong attention to detail

● Knowledge in search engine optimization (SEO), keyword research, and user intent

● Ability to use SEMRush, Ahrefs, Ubersuggest or another keyword research tool is an asset

● “Google Analytics for Beginners” certification and knowledge of Google Search Console is an asset

● Knowledge in UX writing and email writing is an asset

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team

● Strong portfolio showcasing previous written work

● Great time-management and organizational skills

● Ability to research and learn legal topics, think creatively, solve problems, and take initiative

● Basic skill in HTML is an asset

● Second language (French, German or Spanish) is an asset
