Service Writer Jobs

Position type: Full time
Hours: Weekdays 8:00am to 5:00pm
Rotational Saturdays 10:00am to 2:00pm
Salary Range: $55,000 to $70,000 based on experience
We are actively seeking a highly-motivated individual with a background in the automotive
industry to join our team as a service writer. Working directly with the shop manager in the
front end answering phone calls and making work orders for incoming customers.
Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:
 Answer incoming calls
 Booking appointments for customers and managing the day to day schedule of the shop
 Greet walk in and appointment customers when they arrive
 Ensure proper jobs are being assigned to the appropriate mechanic or technician
 Follow up on jobs in the shop and inform customer of any updates
 Advise customers vehicles are ready to be picked up
 Complete invoices on Costar using the work orders returned by the mechanics
 Ensure all invoices are completed properly with all billable parts listed and labour
properly inputted on the invoices
 Maintain organization of files for Accounts Payable and Receivable, which includes
sorting invoices and repair orders and filing them appropriately
 Create estimates for customers on repairs
 Call parts stores and check price and availability for jobs in the shop
 Order parts after approval of the estimate is given by customer
 Enter new and keep track of current inventory, reorder low inventory and perform
quarterly inventory counts with manager and staff.
Qualifications and Experience
 Minimum 2 years experience in the automotive industry is required
 Strong computer skills
 Excellent customer service
 Efficient time management skills
 Experience managing staff is essential
 The ability to work independently
