The Organization for Nova Scotia Innovation Driven Enterprise (ONSIDE) is a community accelerator empowering rural and underserved communities through inclusive innovation-driven entrepreneurship and collective impact. The mandate of the organization is to Convene individuals and organizations in a network, building connections and fostering partnership to advance an inclusive ecosystem, Connect efforts within the ecosystem, to other regional and national organizations, and to under-represented groups in Nova Scotia and beyond, and to Catalyze by building broader awareness and understanding of the IDE ecosystem in Nova Scotia, celebrating success and mobilizing resources.

Role: Social Media & Engagement Coordinator (Summer)Reporting to the Executive Director, the Social Media & Events Coordinator will be responsible for growing awareness around innovation-driven entrepreneurship, the ONSIDE Podcast, as well as a project under the Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES). The Coordinator should be excited by social media, love creating engaging content and interacting with our audience. The Social Media & Events Coordinator should be organized and creative. They should be comfortable collaborating with other innovation ecosystem partners when conducting their work. They should like to tell stories both visually, and with the written word. They should thrive working in a team-based setting, and are comfortable with working remotely, as necessary. This position is essential to our organization to help us communicate with our stakeholders and also share the benefits of innovation and entrepreneurship more broadly.

- Contribute to marketing and creative brainstorm initiatives
- Identify and propose internal/external ideas and initiatives to help promote general awareness of company brand
- Develop and maintain websites, newsletters, emails, social media campaigns
·Designing and organizing inclusive events and engagements
Qualifications·High school diploma
·Some post-secondary education
·Interest in innovation and entrepreneurship
Preferred Skills·French language skills
·Ability to use tools such as Canva, Squarespace, and other project management tools.
·ability to connect with diverse and under-represented stakeholders across the entire ecosystem and beyond.
·Comfortable working autonomously, remotely, as well as in team settings.
Other:Salary: $17.00/hr
Commitment: 30 - 35 hrs/week
When: May, June, July, August – 12- 14 weeks, subject to availability
