Detailed Overview
Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
The Manager, Site Services leads various administrative and operational activities including the management of assigned staff and resources. Represents site clinical operations, leads a variety of projects and initiatives, plans programs and services aimed at ensuring service consistency across the site and improving operations including those related to infection control, emergency management, quality improvement, patient-centered care and education.
Responsibilities
  • Ensures the implementation of current human resource standards and procedures, including performance evaluation, education and orientation as well as compliance with applicable acts, regulations and collective agreements.
  • Ensures the quality of site wide tools and resources to support EOC and Code management; reviews statistics, develops learnings; facilities updates to ensure continuity of quality responses. Coordinates and ensures site fan out lists are updated quarterly by programs, services and physician groups. Leads and coordinates drills related to Emergency Management Preparedness.
  • Chairs and/or participates on committees; prepares status reports to update the Director.
  • Provides leadership through the consultation, management and coordination of various administrative and operational activities for the site including those that impact infection control, quality improvement, patient-centered care, and education.
  • Provides operational site leadership for Emergency Management and Preparedness issues, policies, and education across the site, ensuring consistency. Prepares agendas and co-chairs site emergency management committee meetings. Collaborates and partners with Fraser Health Emergency Management leads as appropriate.
  • Oversees the planning, development and implementation of site education, general orientation and awareness promotion programs in support of the hospital campus.
  • Develops and recommends long and short term fiscal planning including resource allocations for existing and new programs. Plans and manages annual capital and operation budgets for assigned areas; makes recommendations for budgetary adjustments.
  • Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies and procedures for assigned services and initiatives; undertakes delegated responsibilities for, and represents the Director, Clinical Operations at various operational and site meetings such as Joint Occupational Safety & Health (JOSH); Emergency Management Committee (EMC), union management, patient care coordination, and site-wide committees.
  • Coordinates the education of Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) model and disaster (code orange) plans for site leadership. Develops agendas, conducts presentations, and arranges for guest speakers to promote Emergency Management preparedness and awareness across the sites. Reviews statistics; promotes education and awareness of related online training.
  • Leads employees and fosters a supportive, engaging, and innovative environment; promotes the provision of safe, quality patient-centred care. Recruits, selects, manages, and evaluates staff to ensure effective performance of duties; promotes, disciplines and initiates employee terminations.
  • Participates in product evaluation, monitoring and selection of materials and equipment.
  • Leads projects/initiatives and new program development through to implementation; develops project plans and incorporates change management approaches ensuring alignment with Fraser Health objectives. Develops communication strategies, monitors projects, provides progress reports, and takes corrective action to ensure project objectives are met. For sites under redevelopment, coordinates with the redevelopment clinical team to ensure clinical operations are maintained at the site and fosters site-wide responsiveness and readiness.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Completion of an undergraduate degree in health, business, or related field, plus seven (7) years of recent related experience within a large and/or complex acute care setting, including two (2) years in a leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
