Rockwell Site Works is a construction company located in Toronto specializing in heavy civil construction primarily in industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) projects throughout the greater Toronto area. The main construction services that Rockwell offer are earthworks (cut/fill operation and rough grading), detailed excavation (building strip footings, piers, and basement/parking levels), sewer and watermain installation, and manhole and sewer rehabilitation works.
Position Summary
The Site Supervisor will work together with the general manager, office project manager(s), and site workers to provide leadership and project management at the site level to ensure company projects are operating smoothly and to maximize production at a high-quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Any additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
- Schedule and ensure projects have proper layout and survey requirements
- Effectively manage all rental and in-house equipment to ensure maximum utilization
- Coordinate all material ordering, and confirm delivery schedules, including the inspection and verification of quantities delivered to the project
- Review all contract drawings for discrepancies and coordinate required changes with the field, the project manager, and general manager.
- Coordinate site inspections with municipalities, consultants, sub-contractors and owners, as required.
- Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures
- Administer all health and safety policies as required.
- Ensure the correct allocation of manpower and equipment to minimize the cost on and maximize production on all jobs
- Provide material takeoffs to confirm accuracy of deliveries and compliance with municipal/regional authorities
- Maintain office reporting requirements (ex. daily reports, timecards, quality inspections, etc.)
Additional Assets
- Ability to operator GPS system for general layout when required.
Education and Experience
- 8+ years experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role working on heavy civil projects
- Knowledge of heavy civil works, sewer and watermain principles and knowledge of GTA and/or provincial and municipal standards
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
Working Conditions
- Occasional Saturdays when required.
- On site hours: Monday to Friday – 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
