Construction Site Safety Supervisor

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1+ year of experience as a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) and hold an Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 2 certification or better. The Site Safety Officer will be responsible for overseeing safety on two initial projects and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

Monitor compliance:

Ensure workers, contractors, and subcontractors adhere to safety regulations and company policies.

• Take corrective action to mitigate risks and maintain a safe work environment.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.

Conduct safety orientations:

• Provide site-specific safety orientations to all new workers and visitors, emphasizing hazard awareness, emergency procedures, and protective equipment usage.

Assist with safety planning and assessments:

• Assist in incident investigations, reporting, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop site safety plans and pre-job hazard assessments.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential safety issues and propose preventive measures.

Reporting and documentation:

• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of accidents, incidents, and injuries to all relevant parties.
• Facilitate and participate in site inspections, maintaining proper documentation.
• Conduct safety toolbox meetings to address safety concerns and promote awareness.

Contractor management:

• Maintain thorough documentation and reports, including proof of contractor training and certifications, equipment maintenance records, and permits.
• Verify that contractors comply with safety requirements and address any deficiencies promptly.

First Aid administration:

• Provide First Aid as necessary and manage related documentation.
• Ensure first aid supplies are properly stocked and available on-site.

Additional responsibilities:

• Undertake any additional tasks as required to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

• Ability to oversee safety on two initial projects.
• Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Construction Safety Officer (CSO).
• Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 2 certification or higher.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Procore construction management software.
• 3+ years of CSO experience with a developer builder or general contractor.
• TCP (Traffic Control Person) certification.
