Manager, Quality Assurance (Calgary, Ab)

Team

In this newly created role and team, you will be reporting to the Vice President, Technology and building out Ziing’s tech stack. You will be utilizing bleeding edge technology and building products that are driven by generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As the Manager, Quality Assurance (QA) you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of QA engineers to ensure that our software products meet high-quality standards and customer requirements. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing efficient software testing processes and tools to ensure that the team is operating at peak efficiency.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth and efficient software development and release cycles
• Develop and implement effective software testing processes and procedures
• Monitor and report on software testing metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Work with development teams to ensure that software products are designed with quality in mind
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the QA team members
• Review and provide feedback on technical design documents and requirements
• Plan and manage testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on testing and quality requirements
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products
• Manage and lead a team of QA engineers responsible for ensuring high-quality software products

What we’re looking for

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or Cypress
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus
• Extensive experience with Microsoft tech stack, including .NET, SQL Server, and Azure
