The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring the daily operations on the production floor and to make sure that production is following guidelines established for Critical Control Points (CCPs), Operational Control Points (OCPs) all food safety standards, labelling requirements, product eligibility for export and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
· Monitor Process Data Tracker as an OCP - Operational control points – metal detectors, tempering, X-ray, grinder break-down, pH and aW readings, cooking/cooling, MAP, weight scales, product weights, finished product tares (CSB) and AQL.
· Issuance and control of data loggers.
· pH and aW readings are being completed timely, accurately and the record(s) are being completed accurately and in a timely manner.
· Products are weighted at each pH reading.
· CCP assessment → critical limits are being met.
· Daily observation of product.
· Products are correctly packaged.
· Product traceability.
· Products are correctly labelled.
· Track product waste.
· Shelve life studies.
· Weight scale verification.
· Reading/down-loading information from data loggers.
· Record reviews → records completed legibly and accurately.
· Pre-shipment review.
· Issue FSNR’s and track completion.
· Ensure food safety and GMPs.
Requirements
· Post-secondary diploma, or equivalent.
· Previous experience in the food or meat industry is an asset.
· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases is an asset.
· Good effective communication skills → find “food Safe” solutions which support productions efforts.
· Math skills.
· Willing to work early hours, overtime, weekends
· Able to make quick, sound food safe decisions.
· Work well with minimal supervision and can prioritize and organize tasks.
· Responsible, organized, and self-motivated.
· Willingness to progress and diversify.
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Weekend availability
- Day shift
- 8 hour shift
- Overtime
