Job Summary
The IT Project Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of a diverse suite of IT-related Work Requests and Projects to implement, maintain and evolve the technology systems and services of our Business Partners. The IT Project Manager is responsible to ensure operational technology solution support according to service and operating level agreements, and to provide people management of direct reports.
This position will be required to work in a hybrid work arrangement (work from home and some work in the office). Our offices are located at Mississauga City Hall, 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the IT Business Manager – Community Services, the successful candidate will:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Review and evaluate vendor’s procurement responses and demonstrations
  • Lead and manage a team which may include Project Leaders, IT Specialists, Business Analysts, Application Developers
  • Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor and Control all aspects of the project management lifecycle; including adherence to Waterfall, Iterative and Agile methodology frameworks, documentation standards, governance gates and change control, stakeholder and resource management, alignment to corporate policies and processes, and transition to operations
  • Prepare procurement documents – SOW, Business, Functional and Technical Requirements, Pricing Schedule including RFxs (i.e. RFT, RFP, RFI, RFQ etc.…)
  • Accountable for proactive risk management, planning and problem solving to address technical issues in IT Projects, work requests and operational solution management through strong vendor relationship management, security compliance, and software development lifecycle controls (analysis, design, development, test, quality assurance, and implementation and contingency support)
  • Plan, manage, coordinate and report status on multiple IT Projects and work components with a strategic focus to achieving the priorities of the approved IT work plan on time, within budget and to expected quality standards
  • Work with, coordinate and ensure the support of cross-functional IT Project teams in the successful planning and implementation of project deliverables; IT, Business, Procurement, Legal, Privacy, Risk, Accessibility, Health & Safety and external vendors
  • Ensure technical solution support to meet service and operating level agreements for a wide range of technologies, devices, infrastructures, and applications in a dynamic 24/7 support environment
  • Conduct and support technology upgrades, hardware deployments and transitions to operations, product roadmap planning, inventory of business applications, maintaining vendor support details, ensuring quality knowledge base articles and troubleshooting FAQs, and coordinating ongoing technical support staff training as needed
  • Review payment invoices from Suppliers, resolve discrepancies and confirm accordance with contract purchase orders
  • Collaborate with business owners and operational teams to identify, plan and manage service support needs, solution requirements and technology dependencies
Skills And Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred, with Agile certifications (PMI-ACP) an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the systems development lifecycle including development, testing, implementation, integration, maintenance of custom applications and commercial off the shelf systems
  • Demonstrated participation in procurement needs identification (RFxx, SOW) and evaluation, including contract administration and vendor management roles is required
  • Understanding of the IT business process including change management is preferred
  • Post-secondary school graduate in computer science or related discipline with a minimum 5 years Project Management experience in Information Technology implementations is required
  • Demonstrated management and resolution of service incidents, troubleshooting tactics, and problem solving under pressure is required
  • Previous supervisory role with direct reporting staff is required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, supervise and coordinate related activities of staff, stakeholders and contracted service providers
  • Outstanding project management, analytical, implementation, vendor management, organizational, communication (oral & written), and customer service skills,
  • Experience working with technology experts to deliver results in high-profile project environments,
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 109,154.00 - $ 145,540.00
