About Our Client: Our client is a well-respected and hyper-growth global SaaS organization.
Position Scope:
Reporting Directly to the VP, People Experience the Manager, People Experience is a true generalist and will provide guidance and direction on all HR functions in Canada including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, terminations, HR programs and best practices, all while developing and maintaining positive working relationships with business leaders, locally and globally. The role must have a broad HR knowledge base and a desire to drive with excellence as the company continues its expansion.
Responsibilities:
Talent Management & Talent Development
- Leading the learning, training, development programs for managers and employees including identification of training programs, vendor management
- Supports and assists with recruitment efforts, including but not limited to, resume reviews, scheduling interviews, employee onboarding, and new employee orientation
- Leading Employee Engagement including oversight of survey participation, and employee engagement action planning process
- Create and manage a smooth onboarding experience for new hires nationally
- Works closely with Department Heads with respect to planning for present and future staffing needs
- Apply and adapt broader talent acquisition strategies (employer branding, internal recruiting, diversity, etc.)
- Participate in employee reviews and able to provide guidance to managers
- Provide thought leadership on Talent strategies, Organization Development, Culture
HR Business Partnering
- Manage sensitive and complex matters both through individual coaching as well as through facilitating effective group discussions
- Build trust and partnerships with Leaders by providing counsel, expertise, and solutions that support the business in achieving their goals
- Lead the Human Resource function by promoting an inclusive culture and using best practices
- Build trust and partnerships with Senior Leaders and provide counsel, expertise, and solutions that support business partners in achieving their goals
- Manage sensitive and complex matters both through individual coaching as well as through facilitating effective group discussions
Employee Relations
- Coach managers and employees through sensitive and confidential situations. Aid in finding solutions
- Lead the management of employee relations and strategies for the organization
- Responds to employee concerns with a service-minded approach and respect
Strategy and Planning
- Work with VP, People Experience other HR team members to develop HR annual plans and goals
- Maintain awareness of emerging trends and best practices in external environment in development of people strategies
- Understand the business strategies, identifying value added people strategies and solutions (e.g. leadership development, resourcing, labor strategies, engagement) that support business goals
- Contribute to the development of the HR Strategic Plan and Annual plans, leading the development of HR strategies and solutions including OD, Resourcing and workforce planning, Employee Relations, Recruitment and Engagement
Compliance and Legislation
- Works with Senior Leadership to align local HR processes to global processes to support growth and expansion
- Maintains compliance with employment laws in all provinces and recommended best practices. Defines and reviews policies and practices to maintain local, provincial, and national compliance
Payroll & Benefits
- Champion a culture of well-being for employees with a focus on mental wellness and ensure benefit programs and HR policies are competitively designed and aligned to emerging industry trends and innovations
- Manages benefit plans for employees in Canada
- Manages payroll for employees in Canada with external support provided
Culture and Experience
- Leading culture initiatives that foster the values, ways of working and understanding of the vision and mission
- Drives HR initiatives to enhance the employee experience and overall culture
- Promote organizational health and wellness by developing and maintaining a variety of holistic programs designed to optimize healthy living and work productivity.
- Champion the organizations DEI strategies and practices
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Resourceful and resilient in ways of working in an evolving business
- Business mindset and acumen, with an ability and focus on delivering solutions that add value to the overall business success
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized; can manage a variety of work priorities with ease
- Strong knowledge of integration and recruitment of non-Canadian workforce, i.e. immigration policies and process.
- Proven success partnering with senior leadership
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience and knowledge of HRIS, preferably ADP Celegro/Workforce Now.
- Ability to use analytical reasoning and be a solution-focused problem solver using critical thinking skills and working independently to do so.
- Have a strong ability to lead and manage the People Experience for Canada operations.
- Knowledge of HR best practices and regulations, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Legislation, and other governing bodies
- Proven ability to work with and support a diverse employee population nationally
Education and Experience:
- 7-9+ years’ progressive Human Resources experience
- CHRP/CHRL designation and/or MIR HR designation
- A Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources or Business
