The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Finance, Canada, the Manager, Operations Finance is the leader of the Operations Finance Team for Canada and serves as the key Finance business partner for Operations departments within Canopy Growth’s Canadian cannabis business.

Leading a team of two direct reports, the Manager will be the key business partner for Operations department leads to support across budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting along with providing thought leadership in the continued evolution of Operational financial metrics.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize complex data sets into meaningful business recommendations that drive financial and operational performance improvement
• Partner with Operations and Manufacturing department leaders on strategic decisions based on accurate and timely information and fact-driven quantitative analyses
• Provide financial support for the Operations and Manufacturing departments at Canopy, including the evolution, development and reporting of key performance indicators, financial reporting, and financial modeling for decision support relating to Operations
• Create, produce and maintain action-oriented financial performance reporting for the Operations leadership team, including variance analysis and explanations
• Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting processes for Operations and Manufacturing departments
• In partnership with the Cost Accounting and Operations teams, provide analysis, context and support to help evolve and optimize the standard costing process
• Other duties as assigned
• Collaborate and provide finance support for key stakeholders throughout the business including FP&A, Operations, Accounting, IT and Facility General Managers

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Operations Finance, FP&A and/or Accounting
• Chartered Professional Accounting designation
• Business or Commerce bachelor’s degree
• Strong ‘story telling’ skills – ability to comfortably present complex issues to Executives in a simple, logical and concise manner
• Proven experience as a people leader developing high-performing teams, leading through change, and commitment to people development
• Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
• Experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment preferred
