Job Description
About Us:

Established over 30 years ago, Medcan is a global leader in assessing clients' overall well-being and inspiring them to live well. Medcan has a comprehensive range of diagnostic assessments, which, in combination with innovative programs tailored to specific needs, are designed to successfully reach improved health outcomes.

Over 80 physicians and specialists, alongside a broad roster of complementary health care disciplines, provide health and lifestyle management services on site and by video consult for individuals, families and organizations. Our team of 700+ staff see clients virtually and physically from our downtown Toronto and Oakville clinics.

The Role:

The Marketing Manager (Go-to-Market) reports to the Director, Marketing (Go to Market), and is a critical role for an experienced and dynamic marketer within a growing Marketing team at Medcan. The position is focused on building and executing successful marketing campaigns and programs for both B2C/B2B audiences, aimed at creating awareness and excitement, demand generation and deepening client engagement in support of new and expanded locations.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, changing environment at a continuously evolving company, with the opportunity to help define success and how to get there.
  • Are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to create and/or direct development of events and campaigns that compel an audience to act.
  • Value customer insights, but don’t suffer from analysis paralysis - combining knowledge of best practices with a bias for action, with results being the focus. You partner well with a diverse group of internal stakeholders, helping them deliver results quarter-by-quarter, while balancing the need to play the long game.
  • Thrive on measurement and analytics and can naturally dig into KPIs to ensure campaigns deliver on business objectives.
  • Know how to be an advocate for a focused go-to-market plan and are skilled at understanding the requests of internal stakeholders and translating them into clear marketing objectives and plans.
  • Are passionate about marketing, and you are a pro at harnessing targeted marketing tactics and strategies to target these audiences and pull them through the funnel.

The Accountabilities:

  • Maximize Medcan sponsorships including end-to-end management of the on-site experience, marketing activation tactics and engaging internal stakeholders for input and participation
  • People Management: this role will manage a single Campaign Specialist
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to develop, execute and measure integrated marketing plans to drive awareness, engagement, and acquisition for B2C/B2B customers.
  • Support the creation and execution of events that deliver an exceptional client experience including pre- and post-event engagement, on-site logistics & branding, lead generation and vendor & media relationship management.
  • Establish and implement meaningful campaigns to deepen our relationship with existing B2C/B2B clients, including lifecycle management, cross-sell, up-sell, retention and loyalty strategies.
  • Lead the internal go-to-market initiatives designed to engage and excite all Medcanners in building brand reputation strategies and create internal awareness to amplify marketing programs and assets.

The nature of the role requires that a successful candidate has the following desired attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication – takes pride in being accurate, clear, and concise
  • Highly organized – understands the end-to-end accountabilities of a project, managing timeline and budget, with meticulous record-keeping
  • Principled team player – stands behind what is proven to work, while incorporating other perspectives and seeking alignment/understanding, if not consensus
  • Takes pride in producing communications and creative that is impactful and breaks through to capture audience attention
  • Full of positive energy and unstoppable in the face of obstacles, a resourceful problem-solver
  • Self-starter – thinks several steps ahead, anticipates potential outcomes and makes things happen with limited direction
  • Pragmatic - focuses on business and revenue impact
  • Highly proactive – curious about results of all Marketing efforts, driven to capture and communicate results and key learnings
  • Intuitive – asks great questions and uncovers client pain points quickly

The Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Significant depth of digital marketing experience, multi-channel communications and measurement for both B2C and B2B audiences
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in marketing, with a focus on marketing communications and/or event management – health & wellbeing and/or employee benefits industry experience is an asset.
  • A highly collaborative individual that combines a strategic mindset with a hands-on approach
  • Post-Secondary education in business (marketing focus preferred) or other relevant area of study

This is a full-time position that is scheduled primarily during business hours Monday through Friday. The position will have a hybrid work set-up with opportunity to work from home and in the office at our 150 York St location in downtown Toronto 2 days/week.
